Morning family and friends / Buenos días familia y amigos

The Monteverde Volleyball Team is competing in the national tournament again. We have more players this year, but the games are in San José. We need to arrange transportation for at least 24 players, with others able to drive themselves. We have to travel to the capital on Sundays once a month for six months. It costs $230 to transport 14 players, and I'd appreciate your help.
I am both the coach and a player on the team.

Our organization proudly sponsors volleyball programs for everyone and conducts first aid workshops in isolated communities. It's essential to equip people with emergency and disaster preparedness skills, especially since hospitals and resources are scarce in these areas, and first responder teams are limited.

We genuinely appreciate any support or donations for our passionate group of young volleyball players. There's no age limit- because we believe we're stronger together, united in this effort.

Voleibol para TODOS.

Gracias al Fondo Comunitario, por primera vez nos está ayudando a enfrentar algunos de los muchos retos que nuestro programa enfrenta desde hace más de dos décadas. También a la Alianza de Tours de Café en Monteverde por su excelente iniciativa.

No podríamos haber crecido sin el apoyo de la Junta Administrativa del Colegio Técnico Profesional de Santa Elena, de la comunidad de Cañitas y de los servicios profesionales de GAOS.

La historia del voleibol nació en la comunidad cuáquera hace 70 años y nuestro mayor patrocinador ha sido la Escuela de los Amigos de Monteverde.

Pasamos de tener dos o tres equipos de adultos en la comunidad a una escuela de voleibol que representa a todos los jugadores y brinda el espacio y el tiempo para todos los que practican este deporte, sin límite alguno. Dos veces por semana, cuando es posible, y con el apoyo invaluable de todos los jugadores que han pasado por este programa y de quienes entran cada mes.

Volleyball for ALL.

Thanks to the Community Fund, we are, for the first time, being helped to address some of the many challenges our program has faced over the past two decades. We also thank the Monteverde Coffee Tours Alliance for their excellent initiative.

We could not have grown without the support of the Administrative Board of the Santa Elena Technical Professional College, the Cañitas community, and the professional services of GAOS.

The history of volleyball began in the Quaker community 70 years ago, and our biggest sponsor has been the Monteverde Friends School.

We have grown from having two or three adult teams in the community to a volleyball school that represents all players and provides the space and time for everyone who plays this sport, without any limits. Twice a week, when possible, and with the invaluable support of all the players who have been part of this program and those who join each month.

The Monteverde Volleyball Team is made up of many wonderful members, mostly teens, who dream of having a safe, free space to practice and enjoy their love for volleyball for many years to come. They gather every Sunday afternoon at a special location where everything began decades ago. Sadly, the court is now broken and exposed to the weather. It's the same old concrete court that was originally built by students 20 years ago. We would love your support to repair it and keep this tradition alive. Here's our story: Over 60 players, spanning from young children to adults, come together twice a week to train and enjoy the game for free. This heartfelt project has been a part of our lives for decades, but it faces some important challenges that need our attention before August 2026 to keep it going.

Most of these players are teenagers who truly need a safe and welcoming space to practice and play. Sadly, the court where it all started is in poor condition, and we need to restore it. Each time they rent a facility, it costs over $130, which is something they simply can't afford. Monteverde is a lovely community in the rural mountains, hours away from any city or larger community that has a sports court. We have novice, developing, intermediate, and advanced players who train and play as a team. We urgently need to repair and improve the court at our friends' school to ensure a free, wasp-free space, so we can continue this great effort and investment in the youth and adult athletes of our communities.
