For our final research awards, our 2026 Oral Research Presentation winners! 🏅

The top Outstanding Oral Presentation was "Bridging Extension, Evaluation, and Community Health: Innovating Telehealth Assessment in Rural Colombia through a Participatory Delphi Process" by John Diaz, Ysabel Polanco, and Juan Mesa Valencia.

The top Outstanding Ideas at Work Oral Presentation was "Scaling Professional Development: Building Capacity of Agricultural Educators in Uganda through Curriculum Development Training" by Rebekah McCarty-Barnett, Sarah McCord, William Norris, Olivia Murphy-Sweet, David Obong, Anne Oshaba, Doug Kueker, Amanda Fuller, and Seth Heinert.

Our top Judge's Selection 60-Minute Professional Development Session was "Translating Discipline-Based Research into High-Impact Youth Experiential Learning" by Jennifer Richards, Lex Hall, and Nadia Wolfe.

Our top Judge's Selection 30-Minute Professional Development Session was "Enhancing Extension Research and Practice through Participatory Spatial Toolkits" by Karl M. Rich and Lydia M. Martins.

The winner for the Judge's Selection Lightning Round Session was "Cultivating Connection: Cross-Cultural Communication in Extension Volunteer Programs" by Cynthia Nazario-Leary.

With the wrapping of our 2026 conference, we wanted to take a moment to highlight our exceptional winners! 🏆

Our first group of honorees are the 2026 Poster Winners. Our Top Outstanding Research Poster was "High Steaks Debate: A Review of Social Media Comments Surrounding United States Beef Imports to Australia" authored by Channing Pieniazek, Kaitlyn Anderson, Laura Fischer, and Justin Nichols.

Our top Outstanding Ideas at Work Poster was "Bridging a Gap within the Livestock Show Industry: Increasing Inclusivity through Communication Boards" authored by Hannah Grace Childress, Sarah R. Sprayberry, Bryan J. Hains, Amy D. Spriggs, Warren Beeler, and Kaitlin Fouts.

Day 2 of the 2026 AIAEE Conference in Costa Rica and we continued to Wander Beyond 🌎

We kicked off the day with an incredible welcome general session hosted in a movie theater setting. A unique and energizing way to bring everyone together and set the tone for the day.

From there, the conference was full of abstract sessions, ideas at work, and professional development. Conversations and research spanned faculty identity and belonging, extension education, agricultural education, AI and digital innovation, agricultural communications, global learning, and study abroad. The depth and diversity of topics continue to push our thinking and expand our perspectives.

We came together for the keynote speaker, Dr. French, who challenged us to think about transforming higher education and the role we each play in shaping the future of our field.

Another full day of learning, connection, and growth.

Day 1 at AIAEE 2026 and we are already wandering beyond 🌎

We kicked things off with professional development, campus tours, and meaningful conversations. The Research Poster Session showcased global work in ag education, extension, AI, and sustainability.

Then the student social turned into a full salsa dance class and brought everyone together in the best way 💃

Grateful to be learning and growing in this space.
