🌱 A Day for the Future in Suretka! 🐸
Great news from the Red Frog Guardians! Today marks a major milestone: The Red Frog team met with the leadership of the indigenous school in Suretka to sign the agreements for our new tree nursery. 📜✍️
What we are building together:
Conservation is teamwork! We are establishing a tree nursery right on the school grounds, where the Red Frog team and the children will work together to raise native trees. Later, we will work side-by-side with the students to plant these trees near water sources.
Why these trees matter:
We are focusing on species that provide dual benefits: essential shade and sun protection for humans and animals, and a vital food source for Talamanca’s wildlife.
Our Green Selection:
🌳 Guaba (Inga edulis): Fast-growing shade provider with sweet fruits.
🌳 Sotacaballo (Zygia longifolia): Protects riverbanks and feeds fish and iguanas.
🌳 Almendro de Montaña (Dipteryx oleifera): Crucial for the Great Green Macaw.
🌳 Espavé (Anacardium excelsum): Massive shade tree and feeding site.
🌳 Higuerón (Ficus spp.): The jungle’s "supermarket" for monkeys and birds.
🛠️ WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
To equip this project professionally, we are looking for donations or sponsors for:
Protection & Climate: Sun protection nets (Saran) and transparent UV foil to protect the delicate seedlings.
Tools: Child-friendly shovels, watering cans, and wheelbarrows, so the students can safely help under our guidance.
Growth: Seeds and nursery materials.
Every net and every shovel helps us build a solid foundation for this educational project. Together with the youth of Suretka, we are protecting our natural heritage! 💚

🌱 ¡Un día para el futuro en Suretka! 🐸
¡Grandes noticias de los Red Frog Guardians! Hoy alcanzamos un hito importante: el equipo de Red Frog se reunió con la dirección de la escuela indígena de Suretka para firmar los convenios de nuestro nuevo vivero forestal. 📜✍️
Lo que estamos logrando juntos:
¡La conservación es un trabajo en equipo! Estamos creando un vivero en el terreno escolar, donde el equipo de Red Frog y los niños trabajarán juntos en la crianza de árboles nativos. Más adelante, trabajaremos codo a codo con los estudiantes en las jornadas de reforestación cerca de las fuentes de agua.
¿Por qué son importantes estos árboles?
Nos enfocamos en especies que brindan un doble beneficio: protección solar (sombra) para personas y animales, y una fuente de alimento esencial para la fauna de Talamanca.
Nuestra selección verde:
🌳 Guaba (Inga edulis): Sombra de rápido crecimiento y frutos dulces.
🌳 Sotacaballo (Zygia longifolia): Protege las riberas y alimenta a peces e iguanas.
🌳 Almendro de Montaña (Dipteryx oleifera): Vital para la Lapa Verde.
🌳 Espavé (Anacardium excelsum): Árbol de sombra masiva y sitio de alimentación.
🌳 Higuerón (Ficus spp.): El "supermercado" del bosque para monos y aves.

Herramientas: Palas adecuadas para niños, regaderas und carretillas, para que los estudiantes puedan ayudar de forma segura bajo nuestra guía.
Crecimiento: Semillas y materiales para el vivero.
