Nos emociona anunciar que patrocinaremos otra jornada el próximo mes en Soacha para 100 aniamalitos más. En honor a esto, queremos destacar el trabajo de algunas de las personas increíbles de esta comunidad. Así que, les presentamos a Vanessa, quien participó en nuestra última jornada en febrero. Aquí está su historia.Vanessa vive en el sector de Loma Linda, en una zona de invasión, y trabaja en reciclaje. Se enteró de la jornada gracias a Soraya, una proteccionista de la comunidad, quien les informó que una fundación estaría realizando esterilizaciones gratuitas.
Cuenta que en su sector, Capellania, hay muchos animales en situación de calle y que para ellos es casi imposible asumir el costo de una cirugía. “Nosotros vivimos del reciclaje, no tenemos recursos. Operar un animal cuesta dinero y es muy difícil reunirlo”, explica.
Preocupada por la cantidad de perritos y gatitos sin hogar, Vanessa ayudó a registrar alrededor de 40 animales de su comunidad; finalmente, cerca de 30 pudieron asistir a la jornada.
Ella asegura que en la zona hay muchísimos animalitos que necesitan apoyo y que este tipo de iniciativas representan una ayuda invaluable para las familias y para el control responsable de la población animal.

So, please meet Vanessa who attended our last jornada in February. This is her story. Vanessa lives in the Loma Linda sector, it’s an unregulated settlement. She works in recycling. She learned about the event thanks to Soraya, an animal rights activist in the community, who informed her that we offer free sterilizations.
She says that in her neighborhood, Capellania, there are many stray animals and that it is almost impossible for them to afford surgery. “We live off recycling; we don't have resources. Operating on an animal costs money, and it's very difficult to raise it,” she explains.
Concerned about the number of homeless dogs and cats, Vanessa helped register around 40 animals from her community; ultimately, about 30 were able to attend the event. She affirms that there are many animals in the area that need support and that these kinds of initiatives represent invaluable help for families and for the responsible control of the animal population.
