We asked our kids to turn in their best design for a football jersey. Every two years the kids kan design their own jerseys and give their opinion about what they think what would look cool on the pitch 👏🏽

Volunteer story #1 🧡

Noortje has volunteered at Children of Medellín and helped the kids with their reading and writing classes. She describes her time as unforgettable and very valuable for her future.

Last weekend we hosted our first parent meeting of the year.

Every 3 months we organize a meeting for parents and caregivers to keep them informed and involved in the work we do at the foundation. With many new children joining us recently, we took the opportunity to introduce our projects, explain what they involve, and present the teachers who guide the children along the way.

It was a very well-attended meeting, and we were truly happy to see how engaged the parents are. Their support makes a real difference, because only with their encouragement can the children stay motivated, keep learning, and continue to grow. 🧡💚

💪🤩 The twins Juan Alvaro and Juan José have been coming to the foundation for the second year now. They take part in the reading and writing classes and in the Sararé music project.

Juan Alvaro actually likes everything at the foundation: the lessons, the teachers, the other children, learning to read music notes, and the fruit he gets after a lesson. He could go on and on. 😄

His brother Juan José completely agrees with him. He loves learning, playing, and making friends. He also enjoys healthy food like pineapple, mango, and watermelon, and even doing his homework! 🍍🥭🍉📚

Discussing ideas together, or building something on your own, learning new rules from tactical games like chess (and also following the rules 😉), thinking strategically, and learning from each other; playing games may seem just fun at first, but children are actually training important life skills.

Our game afternoons are open to all children, so everyone can join. At the foundation, we offer every child a safe and supportive place to learn 💚🧡

Click click click 📸 Our young journalists have enthusiastically started their classes again this year! As you know, we are using the money from the lottery to build a classroom for the journalism project.

Even though they don’t have their own classroom yet, it doesn’t stop them. They are practicing a lot; interviewing people, taking photos and videos, and writing articles for the magazine they publish every half year 🎥📷✍️

With this project, we help children look beyond the borders of their own neighborhood, so they can see what is possible and dare to dream big 🤩🙏

Vandaag geeft Profe Luis computerles aan de kinderen én aan onze nieuwe stagiaires 🧑‍🏫 De komende vijf maanden lopen zij met ons mee, doen ze onderzoek en ondersteunen ze verschillende projecten. Vandaag kijken ze mee bij de computerles. Computerles betekent ook programmeren! 💻 Vandaag werkt de geavanceerde groep aan uitdagende opdrachten. Binnen het project werken we met drie niveaus: beginners, intermediate en geavanceerd. De kinderen starten bij de basis en bouwen stap voor stap hun kennis en vaardigheden verder uit. We zijn trots op hun groei en kijken uit naar alles wat onze stagiaires én leerlingen de komende maanden gaan bereiken! ✨

Today, Profe Luis is teaching computer class to the children as well as to our new interns 🧑‍🏫 Over the next five months, they will be working alongside us, conducting research, and supporting different projects. Today they are participating in the computer classes. Computer class also means programming! 💻 Today, the advanced group is working on challenging assignments. Within the project, we work with three different levels: beginners, intermediate, and advanced. The children start with the basics and gradually build their knowledge and skills step by step. We are proud of their growth and look forward to everything our interns and students will achieve in the coming months! ✨
