October begins with a celebration of International Coffee Day ☕️

These past few months, we’ve been on the journey of seeing these coffee beans cross borders, making our first export a reality. 🙏 This journey has also been built over years of trust, learning, and friendship alongside communities who have found in coffee a new opportunity for their territories.

What began as an effort to support crop substitution has grown into more hectares, new dreams, and new lessons along the way. 🌱

We were so happy to welcome Trino back! And we are excited to hear about what he was able to accomplish during his trip.

We give thanks for his life, for his hands, and for his willingness to take part in this difficult work—bringing hope to a territory devastated by the earthquake.
It was an enormous effort, requiring the careful coordination of time, resources, and people’s dedication to rebuild homes where families can live. It is a new beginning.

And although we know that this continues to be a time filled with anguish and uncertainty, we trust that God uses willing hands to keep shining His light in the midst of the darkness.

🙌🙌🙌

What was the first word you learned to write?

For many of us, it was probably our own name. And there is something meaningful about that. Writing our name is a way of recognizing who we are, affirming our identity, and leaving our mark on the world.

For adults who take the courageous step of learning to read and write, that first step can mean so much more than learning letters and words. It can open new possibilities, create spaces to learn together, and offer new ways to tell, preserve, and share their own stories.

At Wájaro, we walk alongside literacy programs in Spanish and in the Indigenous languages of the communities we serve. We believe that writing does not replace oral tradition; rather, it can help strengthen it, preserving knowledge, stories, and wisdom for generations to come.

We celebrate every person who chooses to learn, every group that gathers around words and letters, and every teacher who makes these spaces possible.
Because every word carries a story, an identity, and a legacy worth passing on.

At Wájaro, we have had the privilege of meeting and walking alongside remarkable Indigenous women—leaders, mothers, entrepreneurs, and women of faith who, through their hands, their voices, and their decisions, weave their communities together and pave the way for future generations.

At its 2024 National Assembly of Indigenous Women, ONIC recognized them as protagonists in the struggle, perseverance, and resilience of their communities, as well as for their essential role in passing on cultural identity and ancestral knowledge.

Today, we celebrate the hands of all the Indigenous women who have generously opened their hearts to us, welcomed us as friends, and entrusted us with the privilege of walking alongside them.

Together, we continue building community and making the Kingdom of God visible on their lands.

We had the opportunity to meet many of the people who are beginning this new season of study. Hearing their desire to grow in God's Word and seeing their willingness to serve fills us with hope. They are people with hands and hearts ready to respond to God's calling.

We are excited to begin this journey alongside UNISYMES, a partnership that makes it possible to bring biblical education to some of the most remote regions of our country.

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” - 2 Timothy 3:16–17

We trust that this time of learning will bear fruit in the communities and strengthen those who serve faithfully.

✨✨✨

The International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief 🕊✨

We recognize the strength and value of every community we accompany.
We have witnessed their persecution, their pain, and their losses.

But we have also seen how, in the midst of adversity, they have persevered, become a light to those around them, and embraced their calling to be missionaries in their own territories.

Today, we honor those who have suffered violence because of their faith and beliefs.

We continue walking alongside them, accompanying their communities, and reminding them that they are not alone.
