Our Story

Shenzhen Mangrove Wetland Conservation Foundation (红树林基金会, MCF) was founded in July 2012 as China’s first local public-raised non-governmental environment protection foundation.

红树林基金会(全称为:深圳市红树林湿地保护基金会,Shenzhen Mangrove Wetlands Conservation Foundation,英文缩写MCF),成立于2012年7月,是国内首家由民间发起的环保公募基金会。

At MCF, our small but dedicated team focuses on providing coastal wetland protection and public environmental education, as well as scientific research. We are creating a platform for society to engage in mangrove conservation, and for people to form relationships with the amazing and vital ecosystems we protect, with support from the government, wetland experts, public, and cooperation partners.

Direct wetland protection and area management is enacted through our eco-park and protected areas. We conduct protected land planning, biodiversity monitoring and research, habitat management, habitat restoration, and invasive alien species cleanup to ensure the recovery and longevity of our coastal wetland ecosystem.
