What you’re looking at is a batch of green PCBs fresh from the electroplating line. The green coating is solder mask, protecting copper traces from oxidation and shorts. The blue panel edges? They’re process rails – trimmed off before the boards are routed into their final shapes.
The equipment in the back – stainless steel tanks with exhaust ducts – is a horizontal electroplating line. This is where copper gets deposited into drilled holes to create reliable interlayer connections (through‑hole plating). It’s a critical step for any multi‑layer or double‑side PCB.
