The Flying Cinema opens on March 13, 2027, as the centerpiece of Plopsaland Belgiumās largest investment ever. This European first takes visitors on a virtual flight across Europe together with Maya the Bee.
Plopsaland Belgium will officially open the Flying Cinema on Saturday, March 13, 2027. The date was revealed in a new makingāof series featuring Gert Verhulst and exclusive behindātheāscenes footage. The attraction is part of Plopsaland Plaza, a 25āmillionāeuro project and the biggest investment in the parkās history.
In the Flying Cinema, guests sit in a moving gondola before a massive dome screen. Motion, visuals, sound, and scent create the sensation of truly flying. During the journey, visitors join Maya the Bee as they soar over iconic European locations such as the Dutch tulip fields, Venice, Paris, and Plopsaland Ardennes. For projection and audio, Plopsaland collaborates with Barco, the renowned Belgian technology company.
The Flying Cinema is Europeās first panoramic flight simulator. Construction began in September 2025, with decoration and dome installation now underway. In the coming months, technical systems, theming, and audiovisual elements will be integrated step by step.
Plopsa Group CEO Carl Lenaerts: āOn March 13, 2027, we proudly open the Flying Cinema. The progress is impressive, and everyone can now start counting down to a completely new family experience at Plopsaland.ā
Plopsaland Plaza will serve as a central hub combining attractions, dining, and entertainment. Besides the Flying Cinema, it will include the Grand CafƩ, a bowling alley, an arcade, and a renovated Plopsa Express station.
During summer, Plopsaland Plaza will be accessible free of charge after park closing, allowing hotel guests, locals, and coastal tourists to enjoy dinner, drinks, or entertainment. The Flying Cinema will be available during these evening hours with a separate ticket, strengthening the Belgian coastās nighttime offerings.
