Founded in 2005, the Catalan Institute of China is an independent, non-profit organization officially recognized by the Government of Catalonia dedicated to strengthening the bonds between Catalonia and China. Based in Shanghai, the Catalan Institute works to celebrate, disseminate and promote Catalan culture, language and heritage throughout China and strives to promote economic relations between Catalonia and China.
