Building the Future of Boxing in China

The World Boxing Council team successfully hosted an intensive three-day WBC Boxing Trainers Course in the beautiful city of Qingdao from July 15–18.

Bringing together former Olympic champions, aspiring coaches, and veteran trainers, the course focused on developing coaching excellence, sharing modern training methods, and strengthening the future of boxing through education.

Congratulations to all 23 participants on successfully completing the course and taking another important step in their coaching journey.

The World Boxing Council proudly continues its commitment to growing boxing worldwide through education, professionalism, and the development of the next generation of coaches.

For eight rounds in Shanghai, it looked like Qinyan Lu 🇨🇳 was on her way to victory.

The Chinese champion controlled the fight, led on all three judges’ scorecards, and came close to finishing the contest in rounds seven and eight. But Kyeong Ja Bae 🇰🇷 refused to give in.

After scoring a knockdown in round two and surviving tremendous pressure throughout the fight, the Korean challenger produced a stunning turnaround in round nine, landing a perfectly timed counterpunch that dropped Lu and forced the stoppage.

A fight that seemed all but over became a story of courage, determination, and belief.
