The association aims to highlight the uniqueness of Taipa Village’s heritage by raising awareness of its attractions and cementing its position as a distinctive community that benefits all of Macau. Numerous initiatives are planned to preserve, enrich and cement the village as a tourist and cultural destination, including a diverse range of artistic and cultural attractions which will allow visitors and future generations to enjoy a unique experience of the authentic Macau.

A legal advisor and lecturer by profession, son of painter Ana Pessanha🖌️, Luís grew up surrounded by art and, with his partner, has spent the last decade quietly collecting works by local and international painters, artisans and photographers. 🤞是次展覽獲澳門特別行政區政府文化發展基金資助, 特別邀請了三位不同背景的知名人物展出他們收藏的藝術品, 他們分別是經濟學家 José Isaac Duarte, 法律顧問 Luís Pessanha 及藝術家周玉玲女士。

👏出席之主禮嘉賓包括氹仔城區文化協會會長麥建智先生,澳門日報副總編緝鄭國偉先生, 牛房倉庫大會主席吳方洲先生, 收藏家José Isaac Duarte、Luís Pessanha、周玉玲女士、以及策展人蘇約翰先生。🖼️

🖼️🎨✨Show-Off 4.0, an art collectors’ exhibition presented by Taipa Village Cultural Association, was officially opened yesterday at Taipa Village Art Space.

🤞Sponsored by Cultural Development Fund of the Macao SAR, Show-off 4.0 unveiled a treasure trove of art acquired by three renowned collectors whose backgrounds are a study in diversity: economist José Isaac Duarte, legal consultant Luís Pessanha and artist Chao Iok Leng.🖼️

👏The opening was officiated by esteemed guests including Mr. Jose Luis de Sales Marques, Chairman of Taipa Village Cultural Association, Mr. Cheang Kwok Wai, Deputy Chief Editor of Macau Daily News, Mr. Ng Fong Chao, President of Ox Warehouse, art collectors Mr. José Isaac Duarte, Mr. Luís Pessanha, Ms Chao Iok Leng, as well as curator Mr. João O.

❤The evening was enlivened by an art tour presented by the three collectors, who shared their own unique art collections amassed over the years. Each collection in the exhibition reveals aspects of their personality, from paintings by artists in Portuguese-speaking countries, contemporary art to Chinese shop plaques. According to João O, curator of the exhibition, it is believed that by revealing the collectors’ beloved artworks that adorn their most intimate spaces like their homes, the exhibition unravels some ideas about collecting art as a cultural asset that begins with an individual's initiative, leading to a broader sense of shared wealth, a healthy society, diversification of the local economy and the nurturing of local and international talent.

Building on the cultural influence brought to the community by the first show in the series, Show-off 4.0 is a treasure trove of art acquired by three renowned collectors whose backgrounds are a study in diversity: economist José Isaac Duarte, legal consultant Luís Pessanha and artist Chao Iok Leng.

✧˖°🖼🏛📷♡The show explores ideas related to the collection of art and aims to promote collecting as a cultural asset spurred by individual initiative that may also broaden a sense of commonwealth, foster vitality in society, add diversity to local economies – including though activities such as art trading – and nurture local and international talent. 💠 “Waves of Influence,” an exhibition presented by esteemed artist Elizabeth Briel , transformed recycled fabrics into artisanal paper works imbued with Macanese tiles to pay tribute to the cultural significance of Macau's history.

💠Drawing inspiration from the Portuguese azulejos of Macau and the trade routes of empires, Elizabeth creates a one-of-a-kind blend of sustainability and intricate craftsmanship. Each sheet is etched and silkscreened with copper leaf and ink, proving that paper is a powerful medium capable of bridging cultures and centuries.

✨✨ “Waves of Influence,” a paper art installation presented by international artist Elizabeth Briel, was officially opened at Taipa Village Art Space yesterday. 🔷🔷The exhibition showcases the distinctiveness of paper art created from recycled textiles, a rare art medium that embodies the concept of environmental sustainability. 💙💙The show is sponsored by the Cultural Development Fund of the Macao SAR.

🎉🎉The opening was officiated by esteemed guests including Mr. Pedro Leong, Acting Member of Administrative Committee of the Cultural Development Fund of the Macao SAR, Ms. Sarah Ma, Head of Communication and External Relations Department of Macao Government Tourism Office, Mr. Jose Luis de Sales Marques, Chairman of Taipa Village Cultural Association, Mr. Cheang Kwok Wai, Deputy Chief Editor of Macau Daily News, Ms. Elizabeth Briel, Artist and Mr. João O, curator of the exhibition.
