Hans is still cycling.
Dear friends,
After all serious conflicts between 2016-2017, ROCn had been disconnected with Audax Club Parisien. There were a lot of sad events happened. These stories will be told in future in the book I am writing.
Now, I, Hans Ngo Wurfbain, have been living in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and I am visiting a lot of liquor stores in Benelux, Germany to promote Baijiu and a lot of cocktail bars to create more baijiu cocktails. Why am I doing this? 3 reasons:
1. I am no longer needed for the development of ultra-cycling in China, no matter how it is going.
2. I have to confess that I did ultra-cycling to cure my own PTSD in the beginning, then the self-curing process expanded to serve the cycling community. Whatever achievement there was, it was all the grace from the Lord, I didn't achieve anything. I was the tool for the Lord to achieve something over there.
3. The ROCn period of my life was to understand myself, and now I am moving onto the period of my life to understand the relationship between anything, between humans, between human and animal, between human and nature, between cultures, between nations.
In this context, I fulfil my mission with the tool of food and beverage. I enjoy helping people understand the beauty of anything, because the capability of understanding beauty of things is the key resolution of all conflicts caused by fear, which is mainly caused by lack of understanding.
The world now is on its way of becoming more nationalist, and more segregated; it seems the globalization has its stagnation, which is primarily caused by a combination of factors, including trade protectionism, geopolitical tensions, the impact of the pandemic, technological fragmentation, and social and cultural backlash. The urgent need of aesthetic capability education is rising, and the people who need peace and communication are in need of more open-minded leaders, who are less nationalist, less protectionism, less individualism.
The world needs more people with a God’s-eye/holistic view for its development.
The term "Randonneur" originally refers to long-distance cycling, so "Randonneurs of China" can be translated as "long-distance cyclists from China." I am still cycling, so Randonneurs of China will continue to tell the stories of dream chasers related to cycling. A friend from the Netherlands once said, "Johnnie is no longer walking, but Hans is still cycling."
Who is Johnnie? Oh, Johnnie the Walker. This is just a joke from my friend.
Now I am cycling 200-350km every week in the Netherlands, sometimes I would also cycle into Germany.

In the end, I want also to say a lot of thanks to Bobbi Fisher (Roberta Eileen Fishbain), a good friend of mine, the person who brought me to randonneuring. This week marks the one-year anniversary of her passing.
