IJF 2026 Event Recap

On 27 August 2026, SCOLAR Network and BeHive co-organized the 5th Beijing International Job Fair — the flagship career event of the HICOOL 2026 Global Entrepreneur Summit. The fair brought international professionals, graduates, job seekers, employers and professional communities together under one roof.

The event welcomed more than 800 participants representing 40+ nationalities, 25+ companies and 20+ community partners. The program featured career workshops, panel discussions, expert fireside chats and organization roadshows.

Peter Edwards led a practical workshop on designing a dream career. During the industry panel, representatives from New Oriental, Hello Career and JinShang discussed what, beyond a strong CV, contributes to long-term professional success. Tim Luan shared his experience of working in both startups and corporations, while Billy Huang explored the skills professionals need in the age of artificial intelligence.

During the company roadshow, employers introduced their organizations and open positions. International communities also presented their initiatives and opportunities to get involved. Participants could speak directly with recruiters, ask questions, join on-the-spot interviews and discover new career opportunities.

The venue remained lively throughout the day. Professional introductions developed into interviews and mentoring conversations, while the lounge became a welcoming networking space. Pizza, lucky draws and a final group photo added to the warm and friendly atmosphere.

SCOLAR is pleased to present our partner‘s event, registration now open for the 2026 World Russian Championship for Foreigners, held annually with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The event is aimed at promoting the Russian language and culture and brings together thousands of young people from various countries. We sincerely invite young Russian‑language speakers to take part in this championship.

The Championship is a team-based intellectual competition for foreign nationals aged 16 to 35 who are studying the Russian language.

Team Composition:

1 mentor (aged 21 or older, proficient in Russian) and 3 participants.

Participants are divided into three divisions:

· Foreign nationals residing in any country worldwide (except Russia and the CIS countries);
· Foreign nationals from CIS member states, the Republic of Abkhazia, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, and the Republic of South Ossetia;
· Foreign nationals studying at Russian higher education institutions.

Schedule of the Championship:

· Qualifying round (online, July–October 2026). Participants take tests for knowledge of the Russian language and culture, fill out a portfolio, and record a team video presentation. Weekly additional tasks are rewarded with bonus points, thereby enabling even students who underperform in tests to showcase their strengths;

· Final (in-person, Moscow, November 19–23, 2026). The top 30 teams are invited to participate. The final program includes intellectual and creative challenges: solving team-based situational tasks, debates, an intellectual tournament, and essay writing.

What participants receive:

· Finalists will receive reimbursement of travel expenses, accommodation, and meals during the final stage;
· Winners and prize-winners will be granted the right to enroll in higher education institutions of the Russian Federation, and will also take part in the award ceremony and the conferment of the honorary title of World Champion in the Russian Language.

From July 2025 to July 2026, SCOLAR Hubs continued to grow, connect young leaders across the SCO region, and turn ideas into projects and opportunities.

• 18 members graduated and became SCOLAR alumni

SCOLAR Alumni Graduation Ceremony 2026: Event Recap

On July 26, 2026, the SCOLAR Alumni Graduation Ceremony was held, bringing together representatives of SCOLAR Hubs, members, alumni, and guests from across the Network.

The programme included opening remarks, followed by interactive Mentimeter and Kahoot sessions aimed at engaging participants and strengthening communication within the SCOLAR community.

Representatives of the SCOLAR Hubs in Minsk, Bishkek, Hefei, Beijing, and Shanghai delivered presentations highlighting their key activities and achievements over the past year. The presentations covered major events, initiatives, partnerships, and projects implemented by the respective Hub teams.

Сentral part of the programme was dedicated to the graduation ceremony and the presentation of certificates to SCOLAR alumni in recognition of their contribution, commitment, and active participation in the development of the Network.

During the event, it was also announced that work is currently underway to support the establishment of SCOLAR candidate Hubs in Varanasi, Islamabad, and Almaty.

Сeremony provided an opportunity to reflect on the results achieved over the past year, recognise the contributions of SCOLAR members and alumni, and outline the Network’s further development priorities.

SCOLAR extends its appreciation to all participants, Hub teams, alumni, and partners for their trust, contribution and support throughout the year!

KAU International Summer School 2026: Strengthening International Youth Cooperation through Education and Cultural Exchange

From 22 to 27 June 2026, the KAU International Summer School was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, organized by the Kazakh-American University (KAU) in partnership with SCOLAR Network. The Summer School was conducted within the framework of the SCOLAR Almaty Candidate Hub initiative, aimed at expanding the Network’s presence in Kazakhstan and strengthening international youth cooperation across the SCO region.

The program brought together 22 participants from seven countries: the United States, China, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Greece, and the host country, Kazakhstan. Among the participants were 10 active members representing the SCOLAR Beijing, Bishkek, and Tashkent Hubs, creating an environment that encouraged the exchange of experience between established SCOLAR communities and prospective members of the Almaty Candidate Hub.

Throughout the week, participants took part in an intensive academic program dedicated to digital diplomacy, international cooperation, leadership, intercultural communication, and the development of practical professional competencies. In addition to strengthening subject-specific knowledge, the Summer School placed significant emphasis on developing soft skills, including leadership, teamwork, public speaking, critical thinking, and effective communication.
