The African Network against Illiteracy, Conflicts and Human Rights Abuse (ANICHRA) was founded on the 17th of January 2008 by Dr Willibroad Dze-Ngwa. Grew up in a society where it was difficult for children to go to school due to either financial constraints or simple cultural impediments, especially in the case of the girl child, where the need for adult literacy programmes was excruciating, wher
e women were completely dependent on their husbands and whose rights are violated daily, where farmer grazer conflicts are rife and the ensuing consequence of conflicts in many areas in Cameroon and Africa in general, Dr Dze-Ngwa took it upon himself to not only develop scholarship schemes which will send many children to school but equally sensitise parents of disfavoured regions in the country about the importance of education. Going by the realisation that these areas were prone to conflicts and massive human rights abuse, ANICHRA was then formed to fight against the root causes of conflicts and champion the fight for the respect of human rights especially those of women and children and minority groups. ANICHRA is a non-profit, non-confessional and apolitical organisation which serves as a think tank not only to the Cameroonian government but to AU and many UN agencies in aspects of conflicts in the country, Sub Region and Africa at large. We investigate, analyse and propose solutions to our partners in crises. The uniqueness of the organisation lies in the fact that we go to the field, investigate and bring viable data which helps in the formulation of proposals in the various stages of conflicts (prevention and management and resolution) We have a group of experts who are dedicated to our causes and possess extensive field experience in all the areas in which we embark. We possess a rich bank of information on conflicts in Africa which can serve any purpose.
