Seven women killed in Cameroon in just one week.

Seven lives. Seven families left grieving. Seven stories that should have continued.

Femicide is not a family matter. It is not a “domestic dispute.” It is violence against women and a serious human rights crisis.

Cameroon has already recorded a worrying rise in femicide, with government figures showing 77 women were murdered in 2025, up from 67 in 2024 and 50 in 2023. What about the ones that have not been discovered yet?

We cannot continue to mourn women only after they are dead

We need stronger prevention, accountability for perpetrators, protection for women at risk, and communities willing to speak up before violence becomes murder.

PEPA stands with women and girls and call for collective action to end gender-based violence.

A woman should not have to die for us to take her safety seriously.

PEPA-DRC is inviting qualified businesses and suppliers in the Democratic Republic of Congo to submit bids to provide essential items for the SIEA 2026 Project in Goma.

We are looking for suppliers for:

Lot 1: School & Sleeping Supplies

* School bags
* Exercise books
* Pens, pencils and geometry sets
* Orthopedic mattresses
* Bed sheets
* Blankets

Lot 2: Food, Hygiene & Clothing

* Maize flour
* Beans
* Rice
* Cooking oil
* Iodized salt
* Soap
* Buckets
* Toothbrushes & toothpaste
* Sanitary pads
* New clothes
* Shoes

Lot 3: Communication & Visibility Materials

* Banners
* Branded T-shirts
* Roll-up banners

✅ Suppliers can apply for one lot, two lots, or all three lots. Each lot will be evaluated separately.

📅 Submission Deadline:
20 August 2026, 3:00 PM (Goma time).

This procurement supports the SIEA Project, which provides individualized assistance to vulnerable, orphaned, and displaced children and adolescents in Goma. The project is implemented by PEPA-DRC in partnership with PEPA-People for People Afrika e.V. And funded by Haus des Stiftens.

Right now in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo, PEPA is continuing its commitment to children and adolescents affected by displacement, vulnerability and conflict.

Through our ongoing support activities, we are helping vulnerable children access essential assistance, including education support, basic needs, follow-up and protection services.

For PEPA, every child deserves more than survival. They deserve dignity, safety, opportunity and hope.

We continue working with communities and partners to ensure that even in difficult circumstances, no child is forgotten.

Yesterday, PEPA participated in the UNODC and ICAT event marking the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2026, under the theme:

Trapped Behind the Scam: Following the Money.

The discussion highlighted a growing and deeply concerning dimension of human trafficking: trafficking for the purpose of forced criminality in online scam operations.

Behind the screens and financial transactions are real people, often recruited through deception, transported or controlled, and forced to participate in criminal activities. The profits generated through these operations can reach billions, while victims face exploitation, violence, psychological harm and loss of freedom.

A key message from the event was the importance of following the money strengthening financial investigations, tracing illicit financial flows, gathering digital evidence, and building stronger partnerships between governments, financial institutions, technology companies, civil society and law enforcement.

PEPA encourages that, Victims should be identified, protected and supported, not treated as criminals for acts they were forced to commit.

As humanitarian actors and human rights advocates, we remain committed to raising awareness, protecting vulnerable populations and amplifying the voices of those at risk of exploitation.

Trafficking may hide behind a screen, but its victims must never remain invisible.
A big thanks to the UNODC and ICAT for organising and coordinating this much needed solution based initiatives to combat human trafficking.

Today, on World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we stand for freedom, dignity, and justice.

Human trafficking is not just a crime, it is a violation of human rights that steals childhoods, destroys families, and exploits the most vulnerable. Women, children, and displaced persons remain at the highest risk, especially in communities affected by poverty, conflict, and limited opportunities.
We at PEPA believe that prevention starts with awareness, protection begins with strong communities, and lasting change comes through collective action.

Let us all:
🔹 Learn to recognize the signs of trafficking.
🔹 Speak up when something doesn't seem right.
🔹 Support survivors with compassion, not stigma.
🔹 Invest in education, child protection, and safe opportunities for vulnerable communities.

Hope begins with identifying those who need it most.

PEPA DRC has officially launched an Individual Case Support Initiative in Goma, North Kivu, to provide tailored assistance to displaced, orphaned, and vulnerable children and adolescents.

Our first step is listening, identifying, and verifying the most urgent cases in close collaboration with local partners and community stakeholders. This careful process ensures that every intervention is guided by real needs, reaches the right children, and upholds their dignity.

This important Humanitarian action was sponsored by Haus Des Stiftens gGmbH Germany to PEPA – People for People Afrika e.V. (Germany) and implemented through PEPA DRC. Their support makes it possible to deliver life-changing assistance to children facing some of the world's most challenging humanitarian conditions.

PEPA DRC believes that effective humanitarian action starts with people, not statistics. Every verified case represents a child whose future matters and who deserves protection, opportunity, and hope.
