CAMEROON’S CLIMATE: THEN AND NOW
Have you noticed how Cameroon’s climate has changed over the years?

In the past, the seasonal patterns were more familiar and farming and daily activities were reliable. Today, rising temperatures and changing rainfall patterns are creating new challenges. Scientific data shows that Cameroon’s average annual temperature has increased significantly between 1974 and 2020.

Hotter days, unpredictable rainfall, flooding, and prolonged dry spells threaten agriculture, water supplies, livelihoods, and vulnerable communities.

Climate change doesn’t only affect our environment, it also affects our food, health, and future.

At PEPA, protecting our environment means protecting our people. Let's plant trees, conserve water, reduce waste, and educate our communities about climate action.

For children without parental care, displaced families, families affected by war. and older people living in difficult conditions, assistance can mean the difference between despair and hope.
PEPA, believes that every vulnerable person deserves dignity, protection, and an opportunity to live a better life.
Our work supporting vulnerable and orphaned children in Goma DRC, reminds us that even when resources are limited, every act of support matters.

International Day of Rural Women.

Today, PEPA celebrates the strength, resilience, and contributions of rural women who feed families, sustain livelihoods, and contribute to community development.

It is worth noting that many rural women continue to face challenges in accessing education, healthcare, land, financial resources, and climate resilient farming opportunities.

As climate change continues to affect agriculture and livelihoods, supporting rural women is essential to building stronger, healthier, and more sustainable communities.

PEPA encourages greater investment in rural women, equal opportunities, and access to the resources they need to thrive.

When rural women are empowered, families grow stronger, communities prosper, and sustainable development becomes possible.

The commitment continues as PEPA Visits Orphanage homes across Goma .

As part of its Individual Case Support Project, PEPA is also visiting orphanages in Goma, (DRC), providing essential support to vulnerable children.

During this visit, PEPA brought essential food supplies, including; rice, beans, cooking oil, and salt, to help meet the children's daily nutritional needs.

The beautiful sight of the children singing reminds us that beyond providing basic necessities, every act of kindness helps nurture hope, joy, and a sense of care and belonging.

Through this project, PEPA remains committed to supporting vulnerable children and ensuring their well-being, dignity, and a brighter future.

Education goes beyond the classroom. Every child deserves a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment to learn and grow.

Today, PEPA distributed mattresses, blankets, and bedsheets to beneficiaries of its “Individual Case Support Project” in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This support shows PEPA’s commitment to making sure that vulnerable children and young people receive more than just access to quality education, It is also about making sure their environment, well-being, dignity, and overall development is protected.

A child also needs a place to rest well. By providing these essential household items, PEPA is helping beneficiaries enjoy greater comfort at home while pursuing their education.

Because supporting education means caring for the child at school and at home.

Together, we are creating better conditions for children to learn, grow, and build a brighter future

PEPA extends its sincere appreciation to Haus des Stiftens, Germany, for supporting this initiative and helping us make a meaningful difference in the lives of children affected by war. We also thank PEPA- People for People Afrika e.V, for channeling this support to PEPA DRC.

A New Milestone for PEPA!

We are proud to announce that PEPA – Pleaders of Children and Elderly People at Risk, has officially been granted Observer Status by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD)

This recognition marks an important step forward in PEPA’s journey to amplify community voices and contribute to global conversations on land degradation, drought, desertification, climate resilience and sustainable development.

As an accredited civil society observer, PEPA has the opportunity to engage in relevant UNCCD COP sessions and subsidiary meetings. And also host side events at COP sessions too.

This is not just a recognition, it is a push to do more, speak more for vulnerable communities, and act locally for global impact.

Congratulations to all of us at PEPA, to our partners, and our communities who continue to support us and make this work possible.

Victims and Vulnerable children of war in Eastern DR Congo received food support today 30th of September. Courtesy to the Project funded by PEPA-People for People e.V Germany in coordination with PEPA DRC.

This support extended to 62 vulnerable children, victims of War in Eastern DRC , it gives them an opportunity to receive education and hope for a better future. The items included School kits with Uniform, Food including 25kgs of mais flour, 10kg of Rice, 10kg of beans, Salt, 5litter of cooking oil and washing soap per child.

This Individual Case Support Project was made possible by Haus des stiffens Germany, which our gratitude goes out to.

Bring hope to the hopeless, with dignity and respect ✊.

PEPA is set for another round of distribution, as a continuation of their individual case support program. After the distribution of learning materials , uniforms, books, bags and other school supplies, PEPA is getting ready to distribute food supplies come Wednesday.
10kg of beans , 10kg rice, 25 kg flour, 5 litres of oil and 1 pack of salt.

This assistance being carried out by PEPA DRC was made possible through PEPA-People for People Afrika e.V from des Stiftens gGmbH.

WORLD MARITIME DAY | 24 SEPTEMBER

Our oceans, rivers and waterways sustain life and livelihoods, but plastic pollution, waste and climate change are putting them at risk.

We can protect our waters by;
- Reducing and properly disposing of plastic waste
- Never dumping rubbish into rivers, drains or the sea
- Protecting vegetation around waterways
- Keeping harmful chemicals away from water sources
- Joining community clean-up and conservation activities

At PEPA, we believe protecting our waters starts with action in our own communities.

Let’s not wait for someone else to act. Every household, school, business and community can make a difference. Keep your surroundings clean, protect our waterways, and encourage others to do the same.

Supporting Children, Strengthening Futures in the DRC
On Friday the 11th of September, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, PEPA carried out distribution of school materials and essential supplies to children benefiting from our Individual case Support Program

These materials are more than just school supplies, they are tools that help children return to learning with confidence, dignity, and hope. For children and families facing displacement, vulnerability, and difficult living conditions, this support can make a meaningful difference in their education.

The program is sponsored by Haus des Stiftens gGmbH, Germany, through PEPA – People for People Afrika e.V. Germany, making it possible for vulnerable children to receive the support they need to continue their education.
