✨ WE DANCE FOR LOVE, WE DANCE FOR PEACE! ✨
On February 14, 2026, at the Governor’s Esplanade in Ngaoundéré, AFFADA (Action des Femmes et Filles pour l’Appui au Développement Alternatif) made history in the fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the Adamawa Region by joining the global movement One Billion Rising for the very first time.
🌍 One Billion Rising is a worldwide movement leading peaceful campaigns against violence toward women and girls.
💃🏽 To the powerful anthem “Break the Chain,” more than 30 brave women and girls, after several weeks of rehearsals, delivered an emotional and symbolic public dance performance.
Through their movements, energy, and determination, they sent a strong message:
👉 Women and girls have the right to live free from violence.
👉 We can defend our rights without hatred, without weapons, and without violence.
👉 Together, we can break the chains of oppression.
❤️ This powerful moment proved that dance can be an act of peaceful resistance, a cry for justice, and a symbol of hope.
AFFADA reaffirms its commitment to:
✔️ Fighting Gender-Based Violence
✔️ Promoting peace and social cohesion
✔️ Defending the rights and dignity of women and girls
✨ Break the chains. Defend dignity. Build peace.
