🎀 BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH 💗

🎀 Early Detection Saves Lives! Together, We Can Make a Difference.

This Pink October, GreatRift Foundation invites you to a special Movie Screening & Health Education Session dedicated to breast cancer awareness, prevention, early detection, and support for survivors.

🎬 What to expect:
💗 An inspiring movie screening to encourage awareness and understanding.
👩🏾‍⚕️ An interactive health education session with a cancer expert. Ask questions about prevention, screening, treatment, and care.
🧶 Free distribution of Knitted Knockers — handmade knitted breast prostheses for women who have undergone mastectomy, promoting comfort, confidence, dignity, and inclusion.

🌍💜 CELEBRATING THE GIRL CHILD: HER VOICE, HER POWER, HER FUTURE! 🇨🇲✨

In commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child, GreatRift Foundation visited YWCA (Young Women Christian Association) School on Friday for an engaging and educative session.

Guided by this year’s theme, “End Child Marriage and Invest in Girls’ Rights!”, we engaged students in meaningful discussions on protecting girls’ rights, keeping girls in school, and ensuring every girl has the opportunity to shape her own future. 💜👧🏽✨

The enthusiasm and active participation of the students made the session truly beautiful! We also had exciting activities and shared our signature crocheted hearts of kindness 🧶❤️ — with a special twist this time! Made in the colours of the Cameroonian flag 🇨🇲, each heart carried a beautiful message for the students who actively participated.

Though the official celebration falls on Sunday, 11 October, we brought the celebration to the school on Friday because Sunday is not a school day. 💜

At GreatRift Foundation, we believe every girl deserves to be protected, educated, empowered, and given the chance to thrive.

💚 MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS: HEALING THROUGH CREATIVITY! 🧠🎨
At GreatRift Foundation, our World Mental Health Day activities included drawing, colouring, storytelling, sharing, and interactive learning to help children express their feelings, explore their emotions, and understand the importance of mental well-being. 💚✨

Through these fun and engaging activities, we created a safe space where children could learn, connect, express themselves, and feel heard.

🧶💗 STITCHING HOPE, ONE BREAST FORM AT A TIME.

This Pink October, our crochet sessions have taken on an even deeper meaning. What began as simple stitches is becoming something much more powerful—a handmade gesture of love, dignity, confidence and support for breast cancer patients who have undergone mastectomy. 🎀

Right here at our office, our hands have been busy creating, one stitch at a time. Some breast forms are already completed, while others are still being lovingly made. 🧶💕

Throughout this month, we will be donating these handmade breast forms to breast cancer patients, hoping to bring them a little comfort, confidence and a reminder that they are not alone. 💗

Every loop carries a message: you are seen, you are valued, and you are not alone.

And we want to do MORE. 💗
