Sensitization and Tree Nursery Workshop in Bertoua
Last month, we organized and coordinated an environmental sensitization activity in Bertoua coordinated by APEHSD (Advocates to Promote Education Health and Sustainable Development). Through this initiative, we worked closely with community members from different neighborhoods, lovers and protectors of the environment; engaging them on the importance of planting trees and protecting our environment. It was a meaningful experience to lead discussions on how trees contribute to combating climate change, improving soil fertility, and preserving biodiversity for future generations.
As part of the program, we also led the organization of a practical workshop on tree nursery establishment and management. We were deeply encouraged by the active participation and enthusiasm of the community as we carried out hands-on training on seed selection, nursery preparation, watering techniques, and proper care of seedlings. The workshop created a space for learning, sharing, and collective commitment to environmental sustainability.
At the end of the activity, we guided a collective decision to donate the tree nurseries we had developed to the new university layout. This initiative aims to support the greening of the campus and reflects our shared vision of building a more sustainable and environmentally conscious community.
