The African Policy Circle Conference 2025 officially commenced yesterday in Yaoundรฉ, Cameroon, under the theme "๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ป, ๐ฏ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ถ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ป : ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ป๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฃ๐ผ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ๐ ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป". Running from ๐ฎ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ ๐ฎ๐ด ๐ ๐ฎ๐, this yearโs conference seeks to amplify citizen voices in governance by addressing critical challenges to democracy and exploring inclusive mechanisms for civic engagement. Rising threats to democracy, like unconstitutional changes of government, restricted civic spaces, and misinformation, undermine public trust in government and democratic processes. The conference aims to bridge this gap by fostering dialogue between policymakers, civil society, and citizens.
