As part of the commemoration of Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026, Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in Tonga participated in a practical training workshop on the production of handmade washable sanitary pads.
This initiative aims to equip girls with skills to manage their menstruation with dignity, confidence, and affordability while promoting sustainable menstrual hygiene practices.
By learning to produce reusable sanitary pads, girls are empowered with knowledge and practical solutions that can help reduce period poverty and ensure that menstruation does not become a barrier to education, sports, leadership, or community participation.
Together, we are building a future where every girl can manage her period with pride.
