Since 2019, this inspiring young woman has been part of the HOVUCA journey—growing from a beneficiary into a confident peer educator.

Through our programs on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE), Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and life skills, she has gained the knowledge, confidence, and capacity to not only transform her own life but also support and empower other girls in her community.

Today, she is using her voice to encourage more adolescent girls and young women to step forward, learn, and thrive.

At HOVUCA, we believe every girl deserves access to the right information, opportunities, and support to reach her full potential.

𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐚

, with the support of the HER Voice Fund continued its school-based outreach by delivering CSE/SRHR, TB, and Malaria sensitization to adolescent girls in 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, 𝗧𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗮.

Led by trained AGYW peer educators, the session created a safe and friendly space where girls openly discussed:

The strong participation and thoughtful questions from the girls showed how much accurate, age-appropriate health information is needed and appreciated in schools.

Together, we are ensuring that adolescent girls are informed, confident, and empowered to protect their health and future.

Our school outreach in Tonga continued with a successful CSE/SRHR, TB, and Malaria sensitization in another private school (𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐓𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐚) , led by trained AGYW peer educators & thanks to support from Voice Fund

The session encouraged:

Our AGYW peer educators engaged adolescent girls in 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐓𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐚 through an interactive CSE/SRHR, TB, and Malaria session designed to build knowledge and confidence. Thanks to HER Voice Fund

Girls learned how to:

𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐓𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐚 𝐚𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐆𝐘𝐖 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Supported by HER Voice Fund , our trained and mentored AGYW peer educators for a period of two months successfully facilitated CSE/SRHR, TB, and Malaria sessions in Government Technical School in Tonga, creating an open and respectful environment for girls to ask questions often left unanswered.

Girls actively engaged on topics such as:
- Menstrual hygiene
- HIV prevention
- Malaria prevention
- TB awareness

This session highlighted how peer-to-peer learning increases confidence, participation, and understanding among adolescent girls.
