The session was held in the presence of Amanda Cauldwell, Deputy Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy Yaounde, and the Head of the Cooperation and Statistics Unit at Ministère de la Jeunesse et de l'Education Civique 237, Adeline Ndontsop.

Participants gained valuable insights into the Fellowship’s objectives, eligibility criteria, application process, timeline, and expectations for prospective applicants.

The session also provided an opportunity for direct engagement with former Fellows, who shared their experiences, offered practical advice, and highlighted key lessons from their participation in the programme.

By facilitating access to information and opportunities for young people, initiatives like this contribute to developing a generation of informed, skilled, and engaged African leaders ready to make a difference in their communities.

𝐘𝐎𝐇𝐄𝐃𝐀 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐓𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦 2026

We were represented at the 2026 Central Africa Think Tank Forum (CATTF) by our program manager, Tataw
Ayuk Emilie, organised by the Nkafu Policy Institute of the Denis and Lenora Foretia Foundation, held on
September 10 and 11, 2026, in Yaoundé under the theme: “From Evidence to Action: Strengthening Policy
Uptake in Central Africa.”
The two-day forum brought together policymakers, researchers, think tanks, civil society organisations,
development partners and private-sector stakeholders to examine a critical question: How can evidence,
research and knowledge be translated into policies and actions that improve people's lives?
Across the sessions, participants explored how research and evidence can better inform policy and action,
while addressing key priorities for Central Africa, including decent jobs and inclusive economic growth, health
and Universal Health Coverage, governance and accountability, regional integration and energy, and the
growing role of AI and data in policy research. Discussions also highlighted the importance of creating
greater opportunities for women and youth in the region’s changing economies.
For YOHEDA, the Forum provided an important opportunity to learn, exchange experiences, connect with
fellow actors and reflect on how evidence-driven approaches can strengthen our contribution to healthier and
more resilient communities in Cameroon and across Africa. We remain committed to supporting meaningful
dialogue and evidence-informed advocacy, particularly in health and youth engagement, in shaping policies
that respond to the needs of communities.

À l’occasion de la rentrée scolaire 2026-2027, YOHEDA (Youth for Health and Development of Africa) a remis, le 11 septembre 2026 à son siège à Bastos, Yaoundé, des kits scolaires à huit associations partenaires œuvrant en faveur des enfants et des familles vulnérables.
Cahiers, stylos, crayons, gommes : ces kits ont été redistribués aux enfants accompagnés par les associations bénéficiaires afin de les soutenir dans leur parcours scolaire.

À travers cette initiative, YOHEDA poursuit son engagement en faveur de l’éducation, du bien-être et de la continuité éducative des enfants défavorisés, tout en renforçant les collaborations avec les organisations communautaires.

As the 2026–2027 school year gets underway, YOHEDA (Youth for Health and Development of Africa) distributed school kits on September 11, 2026, at its headquarters in Bastos, Yaoundé, to eight partner associations working to support vulnerable children and families.

Notebooks, pens, pencils and erasers: these school supplies were distributed to children supported by the beneficiary associations to help them throughout their educational journey.

Through this initiative, YOHEDA continues its commitment to education, well-being and educational continuity for disadvantaged children, while strengthening collaboration with community-based organizations.

Evaluation à mi-parcours du projet « Jardins et Paroles du Tout-Monde », porté avec YOHEDA(Youth for Health and Development of Africa) et le CIDP (Conseil International de Dialogue et de Partenariat): ce projet culturel, soutenu par la saison culturelle de l'Institut français, met en dialogue les jardins et la parole dans une démarche communautaire.
