Sports, most especially football occupy a key position in our communities. As a matter of fact it does not only contribute to the physical, moral, cultural and intellectual development of the people but also leads to the gradual training process of sport elites of the country. t aims at encouraging and promoting students who are excelling in sporting disciplines, especially the less privileged and frustrated ones giving them a healthy outlet to get rid of their bitter feelings, which otherwise might be directed towards delinquent behavior. Experience has proven that students who practice sports besides their studies have greater chances of succeeding in life. Also they are more imaginative, creative and present a sense of purpose as concerns engagement. They are always fast at taking instructions which are qualities needed in sports. Nonetheless youths who are none students and possess the above abilities are also incorporated. Initially this task started with the creation of a football academy in 2011 which so far has made significant progress. Today the Academy boast of ; a senior football team, a junior football team, a cadet football team, a Benjamin football team, a football girls team, basketball boys and girls teams, handball boys and girls teams. The football academy has been making a name already in local tournaments and competitions in Bui Division. This group is composed of 71 boys as follows; 18 Benjamins, 15 Cadets, 15 juniors, 23 seniors, and 30 girls. This academy has been operational since 2011 with training everyday from Monday to Friday during school breaks and twice a week during schooling periods. Every activity in life has a particular representation with respect to the community in question. Sports practice in general and particularly football has been attributed diverse social representations. Nevertheless, each community is particular. In some communities, football is considered with high esteem, while in other communities like ours it is still regarded as meant for delinquents and school dropouts. This conception greatly hinders the active participation of youths in football. Considering the sports loving people of Bui Division, considering the youths talented in various sporting disciplines, and considering the values of sports, EDU-SPORTS ACADEMY seeks to promote and ameliorate sporting activities in Bui-Division. It will also help the community to understand (consider) sports as a profession.
