Welisane Foundation

Welisane Foundation WF seeks to address issues that block Girls and Women from advancing in the society through Gender Empowerment.

Our four strategic areas are:
- Education
- SRHR
- Networking & Mentorship
- Socio Economic Empowerment.

Looking at these photos, therein are years of persistence, countless setbacks and the grace that carried us through them all.
From a small gathering years ago ....today, the dream has grown into a movement of people who believe that every girl deserves dignity.

Gratitude to every guest who attended, every volunteer who gave their time, every sponsor and partner who believed in the vision, every donor who contributed and every member of the International Menstrual Hygiene Coalition and Welisane Foundation who continues to walk this journey with us.

May we never stop using our voices and resources to create opportunities for girls and women who need them most.

To the One who wakes up early, shows up tired, but still delivers.
To the one building something from nothing.
To the one learning, unlearning, and starting again.
To the one carrying work, dreams, and responsibilities all at once.
We see you.
Work is not always loud.
Sometimes it is silent, unseen and deeply personal.
But it is powerful.
Today, we honour that power.
Happy International Labour Day 💗

The Prime Minister, Head of Government Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute throws his full weight behind the RED CHARITY FOR MENSTRUAL HYGIENE.
This a great leap for us because it puts menstrual hygiene in high profile spot.

With the high-level patronage the Red Charity is placing menstrual hygiene at the center of dignity, public health and gender equality.

Visibility alone is not enough. What we do with this moment is what will define the impact.

This is an open call to partners, institutions and the private sector: now is the time to step in, collaborate and invest in a future where no girl is held back by her period.

Every person deserves to bleed with dignity.
End menstrual stigma. End period poverty.

For a long time, we have carried this vision quietly.
We planned.
We postponed.
We refined.
We told ourselves, “maybe we need more time… maybe we need to be more ready.”
But here’s the truth....
you may never feel completely ready.
And if you keep waiting for perfect timing, you may keep delaying purpose.
So today, at the close of this month we make a decision.
We begin.
Introducing the media arm of Welisane Foundation: please follow
• The African Woman’s Health Podcast
https://www.facebook.com/share/1Cjg3bf8TV/

• Welicious E-Talk — a talk show for women, about women
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100075951627297

• She4She Magazine — a luxury platform profiling women and their journeys

• Our authorship journey — telling our stories in our own voices

Our space where African women are seen, heard, documented and celebrated.
We are stepping into this not because everything is perfect but because the time is right.
And sometimes, starting is what creates the readiness you’ve been waiting for.
Join us as we enter a new month with purpose, voice and bold intention.
This is our next chapter.
And we are just getting started.
