Eid Mubarak! 🌙✨

As we celebrate this blessed occasion, we send heartfelt wishes to every girl, mentor, volunteer, and supporter across our beautiful community. Eid is a time of gratitude, reflection, and togetherness; values that lie at the very heart of who we are.

Just as this season reminds us of the rewards that come with patience, sacrifice, and faith, we are reminded of the incredible journey each of you is on; breaking barriers, chasing dreams, and lifting one another higher every single day.

To our girls and women: you are the light and future of Africa. May this Eid bring you joy, peace, and renewed strength to keep leaping toward your goals. May your dreams stretch as wide as the African sky and your courage never waver.

To our families and communities standing behind every Girl: thank you for believing in the power of girls. Your support transforms lives.

Let’s carry the spirit of generosity, compassion, and unity beyond this celebration and into everything we do, in our classrooms, our communities, and our continent.

From all of us at Leap Girl Africa Eid Mubarak! 🌍💜

May this season overflow with blessings for you and yours.

This year’s global UN Women theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” comes at a time when women’s rights are being tested across the world. From shrinking civic space to rising gender-based violence, from economic hardship to political backlash against equality, the message is clear: progress is not permanent, and justice does not sustain itself.

For us, this day is about more than recognition. It is about refusing a world where girls and young women are expected to survive violence quietly, lead without support, and fight for dignity in systems designed to overlook them.

We cannot speak about empowerment while ignoring the violence that shapes girls’ lives.
We cannot celebrate women’s leadership while underfunding the very movements carrying communities forward.
We cannot claim progress while so many girls still have to negotiate safety before they can dream.

International Women’s Day 2026 marks 115 years of collective struggle and action, but it also reminds us that symbolism is not enough. Girls and young women do not need empty praise. They need safety. They need resources. They need power. They need room to lead boldly and live freely.

As we mark this day, we are holding close, the truth that empowering girls and young women to challenge gender-based violence is not optional work. It is justice work. It is movement work. It is survival work. And it is the kind of work that changes communities from the ground up.

Today, we celebrate the girls and young women who keep rising.
Those who speak even when they are told to shrink.
Those who organize even when resources are scarce.
Those who lead even when the world is slow to make room.

May this International Women’s Day move us beyond performance and into action.
Beyond slogans and into accountability.
Beyond celebration and into transformation.

For all women and girls: rights, justice, and action. NOW.

This , we pause to honor the strength, courage, and leadership of women and girls everywhere, especially those who continue to rise, organize, resist, and lead in the face of inequality, violence, and exclusion.

Across our homes, schools, workplaces, and communities, too many girls and young women still carry the weight of gender-based violence, harmful norms, and systems that try to silence their voices. But they are not powerless. They are leaders, changemakers, advocates, and builders of a more just world.

At Leap Girl Africa, we believe that empowering girls and young women is not only necessary, it is urgent. When girls and young women are given the tools, support, and space to lead, they do not just transform their own lives; they challenge violence, shift power, and help create safer and more equal communities for all.
As we commemorate International Women’s Day 2026, we warmly invite you to join our webinar on the theme:
“Balancing the Scale: Empowering Girls and Young Women to Lead and Challenge Gender-Based Violence.”

“Do you think I really love hurting you?”

This phrase has been used by abusers to excuse violence, shifting blame and silencing judgment. Too often, are led to believe that physical abuse is just a mistake, a moment of weakness, or even a form of love. But harm is never love.

When someone truly cares for you, they choose not to cause pain. Abuse is not correction, it is not affection. It is harm. And no one deserves harm. This year we stand against every, habit, excuse, or belief that normalizes violence.

🇨🇲 Sixty years of National Youth Day is more than a 📅milestone. It is a wake-up call. We often say, "The youth are the future," but this should not only be a catchy slogan. It must be a promise: a promise from the government to invest in the youth; a promise from parents to prioritize 📚education and mentorship; a promise from the community to believe in young dreams, especially those of young girls, and to believe they are a great contribution and part of the future.

Investing in the future of the youth is not just a budget line. It is knowing they have a role to play. It is sending them to 👩‍🏫school, teaching them a skill, and making space for them at the table.

Happy National Youth Day to all the youth. We celebrate your strength and potential 💪

Female Ge***al Mutilation is not medicine, and it is not culture.

It is a violation of a woman’s body and dignity, an act no one should ever
be forced to endure.

On this International Day of Zero Tolerance for FGM, let us remember that
women are not objects of tradition or exploitation. They are human beings
deserving of respect, safety, and the freedom to live without harm.

This year, we stand against every practice and belief that normalizes
violence. Remember, ZERO TOLERANCE

Happy New Year, Leap Girl Africa Family.

As we step into this new year, we acknowledge the challenges of the past; barriers to inclusion, persistent inequalities, and the urgent need to amplify the voices of women and youth in decision-making spaces. Yet, with conviction and resilience, we continue our pursuit of justice, equality, and empowerment.

This year, let us recommit to breaking barriers, championing inclusion, and creating opportunities that uplift every girl and young leader. Best wishes for a year of impact and growth.

Day 15/16: We See You, We Hear You, We Stand With You.

As the 16 Days of Activism draws to a close, we unite our voices to send this reminder:

🌟 A woman's dignity is not a tool to be violated.
🌟 Online gender-based violence is real and has real and devastating consequences.
🌟 women's rights are human rights, period!
🌟 Your feelings are real and valid. Never let anyone tell you otherwise.
🌟 freedom and independence are claimed, not given.
🌟 Your safety matters

We join our voices to those of all the women and girls out there fighting tirelessly against all forms of discrimination and violence to say to survivors: we believe you and we support your healing. And to all perpetrators: We will not be silent. Violence has no place in a just society.

On December 3, Leap Girl Africa was represented at a meeting at Institut Français du Cameroun bringing together Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) receiving support from the Fonds de Soutien aux Organisations Féministes (FSOF).

The workshop, which saw the participation of 12 organizations, was jointly organized by the Service de coopération et d'Action Culturelle (SCAC) of the French Embassy and the Agence Française de Développement (AFD).

The objective of the gathering was to facilitate an exchange among CSOs that benefited from AFD Grants, allowing them to share their experiences, difficulties, and good practices regarding project implementation.

About Us

Leap Girl Africa was founded in 2016, it is based in Yaounde/Cameroon, with members all over Africa.

Our mission

  • Our mission is to scrape-off gender-based violence and promoting education by inspiring girls/women to aspire and create positive change. We do this through our different programs and project put in place which helps victims recover(leap) from their pain and trauma, giving them an opportunity for guardian and economic development through skill training programs.

  • We give a shield to non-victims through sensitization and awareness campaigns which empowers and gives them full knowledge of their rights. This ensures that they do not be victims of gender-based violence too, else we will be turning around a circle “advocating with no results”.
