🌱 **Every child is asking a question... even if they never say it out loud.**

*"Who am I?"*
*"Why did God make me?"*
*"Do I matter?"*

This week at our **Self-Leadership 2.0 Summer Program**, we spent time helping our children discover the answers to these life-shaping questions.

Using the picture of a tree, they learned that a healthy life begins with strong roots. Before they can discover their purpose, they must first know who God says they are.

Together, we explored:
🌱 Their identity in God
🌳 The importance of godly character
🎁 The unique gifts God has placed inside each of them
🍎 How those gifts are meant to bless others and glorify God

One of the most powerful moments came when we held up a simple seed and reminded the children:

**"God has already placed something beautiful inside you. You don't have to become someone else—you simply grow into who God created you to be."**

Watching the children reflect, participate, ask questions, and encourage one another reminded us that transformation happens one conversation, one lesson, and one child at a time.

At Me4Real, we are not just filling children's holidays with activities—we are helping them build a foundation of identity, resilience, purpose, and self-leadership that can shape the rest of their lives.

*Healing happens in safe spaces.*

Week Two of Self-Leadership 2.0 reminded us that healing is not simply about revisiting pain—*it is about creating an environment where truth can be spoken, burdens can be shared, and hope can begin to grow.*

Over the past week, our adolescents courageously faced the wounds they carry. Together, we learned to understand emotions, recognize the impact of trauma, and embrace practical pathways toward healing. As trust deepened, walls came down. The children led us into the hidden places of their hearts, and the Holy Spirit met us there in ways only He can.

We leave this week deeply grateful. _*What we witnessed was not just emotional growth, but lives beginning to move from survival toward God’s purposes.*_

Because when hearts heal, leaders emerge.

Week Two is done and dusted, and we cannot wait to see what God has in store as we continue this journey of transformation.

*HEALING DOESN’T BEGIN WHEN THE PAIN DISAPPEARS. IT BEGINS WHEN WE HAVE THE COURAGE TO FACE IT*.

Welcome to week 2 of the Me4Real Summer Program. We entered one of the most life-changing parts of the journey:

_*Healing from the Inside Out.*_

For many children and adolescents, *pain isn’t always visible. It often hides behind anger, silence, fear, withdrawal, perfectionism, or the need to always appear “okay.”*

This week, we’re creating safe spaces where they can begin to _uncover those hidden wounds_.

Together, we are helping them:
✨ _Understand how trauma shapes thoughts, emotions, and behavior._
✨ _Learn practical tools to process pain instead of carrying it._
✨ _Replace lies born from hurt with the truth of who God says they are._
✨ _Discover that healing is not about pretending the pain never happened—it’s about allowing God to redeem their story._

*_Because when trauma goes unaddressed, it can quietly pull young people away from the purpose God has for their lives.*_

But healing changes everything.

_As they learn to understand their emotions, recognize their triggers, and respond in healthier ways, they are becoming better equipped to *lead themselves intentionally and consistently in the direction God has designed for them*._

This is more than a summer program.

*_It is the work of restoring hearts, renewing minds, and raising a generation that is free to become who they were created to be.*_

*Self-Leadership 2.0 Hike*

*Saturday, July 11, 2026*

Last weekend, the learning moved beyond the classroom and onto the mountain.

_*Our Self-Leadership 2.0 Hike was more than an outdoor adventure—it was an opportunity for our adolescents to put into practice everything they have been learning about resilience, perseverance, teamwork, and self-leadership.*_

With over 34 adolescents participating, every step toward the summit became a reminder that growth often happens when we choose to keep moving, even when the journey gets difficult.

_Together, they encouraged one another, overcame challenges, built new friendships, and discovered that they are capable of far more than they often believe._

A heartfelt thank you to every volunteer and team member who gave so generously of their time, energy, and care to make the day safe, meaningful, and memorable.

*_This hike wasn’t just about reaching the top of a mountain—it was about expanding perspectives, strengthening character, and reminding these young people that with God and with one another, they can keep moving toward the purpose He has prepared for them.*_

*YAOUNDÉ: DAY 1 | DONE.*

What a beginning!

Over 60 children and 35 adolescents gathered in Yaoundé to begin a journey that we believe will shape lives for years to come.🤩

_We looked back at our stories, reflected on the experiences that have shaped us, and introduced the heart of this year’s theme_:

*Self-Leadership is the ability to move myself INTENTIONALLY and CONSISTENTLY in the direction that God has chosen for me.*

*_The conversations were honest. The reflections were deep. The atmosphere was safe. Hearts began to open._*🙌🏾

This is only the beginning.

Over the coming weeks, we will continue walking together as these young people heal, build resilience, discover who God created them to be, and learn to lead themselves well.

_*Thank you to every parent, volunteer, facilitator, and partner who is making this journey possible.*_ Your prayers, support, and encouragement are helping create a generation of emotionally healthy, spiritually grounded, and purpose-driven leaders.

*_Not everyone who smiles after a loss has healed.*_

Some have simply learned to function while carrying unresolved grief.

Grief doesn’t disappear because you ignore it. It often changes form.

It shows up in your relationships.

*_We often celebrate people for “moving on” when, in reality, they’ve just become experts at carrying pain they never processed.*_

Healing is not about forgetting what you’ve lost.
It’s about *_learning to live without allowing your loss to define or direct the rest of your life.*_

Join us for an honest conversation about grief, loss, and the hidden ways unresolved pain shapes our lives.

We’ll explore *_what healthy grieving looks like, why so many people remain stuck long after the loss, and how we can move toward healing with honesty, wisdom, and hope.*_

Because *_the goal isn’t simply to survive loss.*_

It’s to *_make sure loss doesn’t quietly become the architect of the person you’re becoming.*_
