Thank you MADRE and partners for the support .

Today, our partners delivered a statement on behalf of a delegation of Indigenous women leaders convened by MADRE and the Rosa-Luxemburg Stiftung NYC Office for the 25th session of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.

Read by the founder of the Cameroon Indigenous Women Forum, Aei Satu Bouba, the statement addressed the human rights situation of the Mbororo pastoralist Peoples in Cameroon, who face escalating threats to their lands, security, and survival.

The delegation urgently called for:

• Ensure independent investigations for violence against the Mbororo Peoples
• Protection of pastoral lands and transhumance corridors
• Implementation of comprehensive GBV legislation.
• Guarantee Free, Prior, and Informed Consent for all extractive projects
