WOMEN, "POLITICAL POWER IS THE ONLY POWER THAT RULES ALL OTHER POWERS" ! Take note!

Cameroon has just held it's 2nd Regional Elections to elect representatives who will identify, select abs submit to the powers that be, priority development projects for their communities for tge next 5 years.

Surprisingly, all 10 Regional counsellors are men😐

After all the sensitization for inclusion and effective participation of women in political leadership !😎

While from my gender lens I see this as patriarchy in display, we cannot ignore the fact that there are many politically incompetent women facilitating the strong systems to persist.

Of course, we do not forget that tge electorate for tge Regional pools comprises mainly of Municipal councilors abd traditional rulers, where the majority are men.
So, this is really a man's World!

Where then are our numbers 🤔

When are we going to shelve our differences so we can grab the seats in councils as a necessary measure to build towards getting the strategic positions.?

I will qoute KAH WALLA again: "political power is tge only power that rules all other powers, ... so women should get get interested abd participate actively in politics in order thst we will be in position to institute policies that will positively impact tge Women folk:.

ALL IS NOT LOST because Rome was not built in 1 day.

Let's get ready for tge 2026 Council.abd Parliamentary Elections.

Let us pledge to support every woman Candidate abd increase the numbers of women in political leadership from.the base.
I feel drained, but our work is not done, so we continue to

Empowering Cameroonian Women In All Domains Of Life

The Cameroonian Association of Women in the Media, better known by its French acronym as AFMEC is a budding professional media association - product of the 2018 “IVLP on demand” Fellows. It was created in Yaounde on August 30 2018 at the close of a four day capacity building symposium to equip journalists in the view of an efficient and gender-sensitive reporting of the October the 7th Presidential election. The symposium was sponsored by the US Embassy in Cameroon featured a restitution of the experiences gathered from the immersion visit by the six female journalists who benefited in the US Department of State programme.
