The American Medical Diagnostics and Imaging Center (AMDIC) is a newly opened Medical Center with headquarter in EMIA – Yaoundé. AMDIC offers services that include but not limited to; Ultrasound, Radiology, EEG, EKG, Ophthalmology, Mammography, Cardiology, Cystoscopy, Lab, Ear, Nose and Throat. It is aimed at creating a healthier, wealthier and happier population and to contribute towards the achievement of government’s health objectives. It is therefore within this its mission of providing high quality healthcare services that AMDIC is looking for highly qualified staff for the following positions:
1. Medical Doctor (General Practitioner) (1)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide skilled healthcare, diagnosis and treatment services to patients
• Order diagnostic tests as needed, checking and informing patients of results in a timely manner and referring patients appropriately to other providers if their needs exceed the range of care of AMDIC
• Consult and collaborate with colleagues to provide optimal care
• Document all care provided and education/information given to patients within their health record, as per professional and AMDIC standards
• Prescribe medication in accordance with Cameroon professional practice guidelines
• Provide services courteously and respectfully, with regard to the cultural beliefs and needs of patients
• Participate in peer review, quality assurance, and other clinical meetings
• Assist in outside medical public relations functions
• Respond openly to complaints or feedback
• Contribute to roster development and appropriately delegating other staff members
• Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications/Experience
• Be a graduate from an accredited medical school and/or duly registered medical practitioner in Cameroon
• Practical experience as a General Practitioner

2. Ultrasound/Mammogram/Radiologic Technician (1)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures in accordance with accepted protocols
• Operate the ultrasound equipment and analyse findings in real time during the examination to ensure optimal data is obtained
• Follow prescribed safety standards in operating equipment
• Maintain ultrasound and vascular lab equipment in appropriate operating condition
• Verify patient clinical history and health status, evaluate related tests and images
• Communicate comfortably and clearly with patient to explain the procedure, answer questions and relay information about what to expect during the procedure
• Communicate any concerns to the referring or interpreting physician as needed prior to the planned procedure
• Consult with medical professionals and independently assessing any possible need to adapt the planned procedure to achieve optimal results
• Uphold quality patient care standards as professionally defined before, during and after the procedure
• Physically move or assist the movement of patients as necessary to ensure comfort, successful procedure and minimal patient exposure to high-frequency sound or x-rays
• Evaluate ultrasound, mammogram or x-ray results to identify expected and unexpected outcomes given the procedure plan as well as whether appropriate test guidelines and protocols were followed
• Perform all routine diagnostic, mammography, and special procedures in mammography
• Identify and document unexpected results that may indicate the need for further testing or immediate medical attention
• Complete ultrasound technician worksheets that explain test findings to the physician
• Must be available for on-call duty for ultrasound
• Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications/Experience
• Minimum of High School Certificate or equivalent
• Completion of an approved ultrasound technology, mammogram and x-ray program
• Work experience is required

• Adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint area of imaging
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management and peers
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including spreadsheet, datasheet and internet
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to manage interactions with difficult people.
3. Lab Technician (1)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Organize work by matching orders with specimen labelling; sorting specimens; checking labelling; logging specimens; arranging reports for delivery; keeping work surfaces clean and orderly
• Maintain quality results by running standards and controls, verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and advanced trouble shooting; calibrating equipment utilizing approved testing procedures; monitoring quality control measures and protocols
• Identify and communicate abnormal patient conditions by alerting supervisory personnel, the pathologist, the patient physician, or nurse; reporting mandated information to the public health department or other designated officials
• (Chemistry) provide test results for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating chemistry equipment; performing hand chemistries
• (Haematology) provides test results for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating haematology, urinalysis, and coagulation equipment; performing manual methods of differentials
• (Immunology) provide test results for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating equipment such as the gamma counter, spectrophotometer, densitometer, and through methods such as radioimmunoassay, enzyme immunossay, and serological testing
• (Microbiology) provides physician with information for treatment of patient infection by performing technical procedures for the identification or susceptibility of bacteria, parasites, fungi, and mycobacteria
• Contribute to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers by following established standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
• Maintain patient confidence by keeping laboratory information confidential
• Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications/Experience
• Minimum of High School Certificate or equivalent
• Completion of an approved Medical Laboratory Technician program
• Work experience is required

4. Pharmacy Technician (1)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist in providing and dispensing medication and other health care products to patients
• Receive customers and provide assistance by explaining and clarifying prescriptions and answering simple queries
• Receive written prescriptions or requests for prescription refills from patients and prescriptions sent by doctor
• Perform routine tasks to help prepare prescribed medication for patients, such as counting tablets and labelling bottles
• Check items for appropriate ‘shelf life’ remaining before expiration
• Affix price stickers to the items ordered and places on stock shelves or in refrigerator, when required
• Check stock to remove out-dated items, as often as deemed necessary
• Cleans pharmacy shelves and work areas and maintains entire premises in a satisfactory state of cleanliness
• Verifies that information on the prescription is complete and accurate
• Enters data in computer system, recording all the prescriptions, purchase orders requisitions, and disbursements
• Perform general clerical duties, such as answering phones, operating cash register etc.
• Perform other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.
Qualifications/Experience
• Minimum of High School Certificate or equivalent
• Completion of an approved program as a Pharmacy Technician
• Work experience is required

• Working knowledge of pharmacy software and Microsoft Office programs, including spreadsheet, datasheet and internet
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Good analytical, technical, customer service, interpersonal, punctuality and professional skills
5. Nurse (2)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform all nursing duties while adhering to all facility policies and procedures
• Monitor patient progress and identify any changes in status, acting on those changes to insure patient comfort and safety
• Assist doctors and all healthcare professionals caring for patient, always giving a complete and thorough report on patient status at end of shift/assignment
• Practice patient teaching/training for patients and families
• Actively demonstrate a working knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, principles, and practice in order to holistically care for the patient
• Communicate with all staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills
• Consistently seek educational tools in order to broaden knowledge base of various age groups, diseases, and best practices
• Will handle and be knowledgeable of all medical equipment utilized in the care of the patient
• Must be able to perform various sensory requirements such as; vision, speech, smell, touch, manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and hearing in order to assess and treat the patient accurately
• Be punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts
• Any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications/Experience
• Minimum of High School Certificate or equivalent
• Completion of an approved nursing program
• Work experience is required

• Have some experience in hospital environment
• Be able to request and interpret tests appropriate to patients’ needs
• Be able to develop innovative concepts, models, methods and practices
6. Cashier/Receptionist (1)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Collection of payments for services and/or supplies provided by the Centre
• Pay Centre’s bills by cash, vouchers, or checks
• General customer service
• Run daily cashier audit report and check for accuracy and maintain a secure environment for cashiering function
• Correctly code all transactions to appropriate chart of accounts in the General Ledger
• Balance all banking at the end of each day
• Request information or assistance using paging systems
• Stock shelves, and mark prices on shelves and items
• Compile and maintain non-monetary reports and records
• Undertake not to reveal to any person or entity any confidential information relating to patients and employees, policies, processes and dealings and not to make public statements relating to the affairs of American Medical Diagnostics and Imaging Center without prior permission
• Any other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting.
Qualifications/Experience
• Minimum of a Diploma in Accountancy or any other relevant field
• Work experience is required

7. Cleaner/Office Assistant (1)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
As a Cleaner:
• Empty waste bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection and incineration points
• Sweep floors with brushes or dust control mops
• Mop floors with wet or damp mops
• Suction cleaning carpeted areas and “spot” cleaning carpets
• Dust, damp wipe, wash or polish furniture and equipment
• Replenish consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels etc.) as required
• Clean toilets, urinals, hand basins, sinks, baths, showers and taps
• Carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of this job
As an Office Assistant:
• Where practicable ensure windows and doors are closed and lights switched off
• Perform clerical duties which include but not limited to typing, printing and photocopying of correspondences, reports and other documents, and distribution of mails
• Receive and orientate people
• Any other duty as may be deemed necessary.
Qualifications/Experience
• Minimum of High School Certificate or equivalent
• Any other relevant certificate will be an added advantage
• Work experience is required

• Be able to interact comfortably, enthusiastically and professionally while advising patients on specific equipment, departments and treatment
