𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫-𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧

Mboa Hub Through her dynamic youth Team lead Dolores organized the 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫-𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 a mini public speaking and debate competition focussed only on motions concerning climate change and the protection of the environment.

Invited partners and trainers are members of Baseline Orators Network Cameroon Debate Society Talent House Speakers Cameroon.

We start by brainstorming and organizing the program. Then we invited the selected participants
Trained them on public speaking and debate.
Then started the completion.

We have finished the semi finals.

The finals will be on the 24th of August at MBOA HUB, Montée chapelle Obili, Yaounde

We are happy with the level of transformation of these youths who were timid and today are outspoken, resilient and ready to face advocacy for environmental protection.

I am Sandra Siri Ngwa, mostly known as Sandy Black🖤
I am a graduate at the university of yaounde I in Bilingual Letters. I am an aspiring Jounalist

I have an obsessive love for arts, especially oratory. For the records I have been practicing spoken word poetry and public speaking.

Participating in Orators Odyssey was one of those special opportunities I couldn’t afford not to grab.
The competition in the contest was fierce, causing all participants to push harder making things hard for me. Personally I almost got discouraged at some point, seeing people who were very good at this arts participating. I even felt I wasn’t good enough but love and passion kept me going.

I see this contest and more to come as a way of raising my voice to societal issues, calling the world to change and creating impact.

This is to you who is reading, just try falling in love with public speaking and live true love. And in everything you do, give your best so that even if you’re not the best, your best will be out there.

Iastly I’ll love to say I am a sucess Addict. Sucess encourages me to do more and do better. So I am thankful and greatful for this stepping stone.

Eddie Glorious 🎉💖...

Hi! I'm called Eddie Glorious an I'm an Undergraduate at the University of Bamenda. I study Accounting and definitely love Numbers.

Aside from my love for Numbers is my unfiltered love for Public Speaking. Ever since my secondary school days where I was called upon to represent my school in tournaments and events, I've always had the passion of talking to a vast majority of people. Sharing my thoughts and ideas to an audience in a well articulated manner has this joy it gives me

I'm a firm believer in the fact that opportunities come once and when they do, "seize them". So when the Orators Odyssey speaking contest presented itself, I found an opportunity to not only represent my School again, but to express my thoughts and ideas.

But since being a Competition amongst many, even better public speakers, I did have challenges I faced, some that made me almost give up. For example, being amongst the least to qualify for the semi finals, having serious power outages and fighting with time trying to be online beforehand and just to name a few. But with an optimistic mind and an unwavering dedication, I was able to secure the position of 1st Runner up (it means second place not first 😅)

If at any point an opportunity like this presents itself to you here's an advice I'll give you. "No words are ever too small, no thoughts are ever too vast, the only limitation is yourself", just know you can achieve anything you set your mind to. So practice! Practice! and again Practice! And mastery is inevitable.

Because of my love for talking too much 😅, there are countless amounts of benefits i get to enjoy. Being looked up to as someone of Value, an increased communication skill, public speaking has helped open gates to areas I wouldn't personally dream of setting my feet in. Even as a Student of Accounting, I get to be confident as I speak with certain highly revered people in the Society and get Connected with people I could only imagine getting in contact with.

Just remember, your words are your weapons and knowledge is indeed power, not cliche 🥂 Thank you .

🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🎉 BINDOUMOU Philémon Loïc.

Mon nom est BINDOUMOU Philémon Loïc, étudiant en master de droit des affaires et de l'entreprise à l'université de Yaoundé 2, et en master de contentieux international à l'institut des relations internationales.
Mes débuts dans l'art oratoire sont très récents. Ma première expérience a eu lieu au Concours National des Indomptables OHADA, qui s'est tenu du 3 au 5 juin 2024. Durant la compétition, les équipes devaient faire des plaidoiries devant des juges comme de vrais avocats. À la fin, j'ai eu l'honneur et la grâce d'obtenir le prix de meilleur plaideur de la compétition.
Depuis, je suis tombé amoureux de l'art oratoire et j'ai voulu relever de nouveaux défis et continuer de grandir dans ce domaine d'où ma participation à l' « ORATOR'S ODYSSEY SPEAKING CONTEST ». L' « ORATOR'S ODYSSEY SPEAKING CONTEST » a été assez difficile. Il fallait produire des speech écrits, audios ou vidéos en quelques heures voire quelques minutes. C'était assez nouveau pour moi. Mais Gloire à Dieu, je suis parvenu jusqu'en finale. C'était éprouvant, excitant, enthousiasmant, enrichissant et surtout très instructif ! J'ai beaucoup appris et j'espère avoir bientôt d'autres occasions de ce genre.
En tant qu'individu, l'art oratoire m'aide à avoir davantage confiance en moi et à repousser mes limites à chaque fois. Sur le plan académique et professionnel, l'avantage de cet art est qu'il me permet de présenter mes travaux, mes idées et mes projets avec créativité et assurance. C'est un véritable art, très accessible, que beaucoup pratiquent inconsciemment. Nous faisons tous, d'une manière ou d'une autre de l'art oratoire.

I am Yuh Cloud, a tech enthusiast, poet, an ICT teacher and a member of Talent House Speakers.

I am passionate about arts in general, leadership and much more.
