S1, Ep9: MIFALI Girls Speak! 🎙️✨

Meet Shekinah, 17, as she shares her key takeaway from the 2026 MIFALI National Convention: the importance of advancing menstrual health and dignity.

Her message is simple but powerful: menstruation is normal, natural and nothing to be ashamed of. Every girl & woman who menstruates deserves to understand her body, access the products and get the support she needs, as well being able to manage her period with confidence and dignity. 🩸💜

I can’t believe it’s already been a month since the MIFALI Annual Convention 2026.

As we reflect on the incredible moments of learning, connection, and empowerment, I wanted to share a glimpse of something that was thoughtfully prepared for every participant who joined us.

Each convention bag was intentionally packed with items that reflected the purpose of our gathering. Participants received MIFALI T-shirts, notebooks and pens to capture insights, ideas, and lessons throughout the sessions. They also received a water bottle to stay refreshed and energized. Most importantly, each bag included menstrual pads as part of our commitment to promoting menstrual dignity and ensuring that conversations around menstruation are approached with openness, confidence, and respect.

To some, these may seem like simple items, but to us, they represented something much bigger: dignity, care, learning, and empowerment. Every item was selected with intention because we believe that menstruation is a natural part of life, and every girl and young woman deserves the resources and knowledge to manage it with confidence.

The MIFALI Annual Convention 2026 has officially begun🎉🎉🎉

Yesterday, we welcomed 22 adolescent girls and young women from across Cameroon for the start of this year’s convention. It was inspiring to see young leaders come together to share experiences, learn from one another, and build meaningful connections.

Over the next three days, we will engage in discussions on feminist leadership, women’s human rights, menstrual dignity, climate justice, creative arts, and advocacy. Together, we are creating a safe and empowering space for learning, solidarity, and collective action.

I am excited to witness the growth, creativity, and leadership that will emerge from this gathering. Here’s to strengthening the voices of adolescent girls and young women and building a stronger feminist movement in Cameroon.

Honoured to have been received yesterday by H.E. Professor Marie Thérèse Obama, Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family (MINPROFF), ahead of our 6tIamMifalili National Convention.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for us, as girls and young women, to present our collective priorities and aspirations. We also shared our consolidated annual report, highlighting key milestones achieved over the years, alongside our joint campaign policy brief and recommendations.

Meaningful change actually begins when the voices of girls are heard, valued, and translated into action. We look forward to continued collaboration in advancing policies that promote the rights, dignity, and opportunities of every girl in Cameroon. 💜

Wow great❤️

Wow great❤️

During the workshop, we presented our contributions, achievements, and key challenges in advancing menstrual dignity.

Beyond programs, these discussions focus on the bigger picture: policy reform, market barriers, and sustainable access to menstrual health products. Real progress requires coordination, evidence, and collective advocacy.
