*Escalating attacks on herders – Actions taken and next steps*
Dear community members,
We regret to inform you that despite our repeated appeals to administrative and judicial authorities, the poisoning of cattle, physical assaults, and threats against herders continue in Mayo-Darlé and Bankim.
*Recent facts (documented):*
1. 61+ cattle killed by poisoning (suspects: Ibrahim Ndi, Hassimi Nji Aoudou, Didja Djobdi, others)
2. Traditional chief Mohamadou Awalou (Ribao) accused of orchestrating expulsions and assaults
3. A herder, Arouna Issa, was macheted by Weya alias Yerima (photo available)
What MBOSCUDA has done:
✔️ Sent formal complaint to the Governor of Adamawa (16 April 2026)
✔️ Attached veterinary autopsy reports and photos
✔️ Assisted victims in filing complaints at Mayo-Darlé Brigade
What we need from you:
* Report any incident immediately to our hotlines (697 880 000 / 677 120 005).
* Do not destroy crops or retaliate – let the law act.
* Keep all veterinary and medical certificates.
* Join our peace dialogue committee – next meeting: [date to be announced].
*What we demand from authorities:*
* Arrest and prosecution of Ibrahim Ndi, Chief Mohamadou Awalou, and Weya
* Dissolution of “Dinsing” meetings and expulsion of foreign nationals involved
* Fair treatment of herders at the sub-prefecture (no more illegal cattle seizures without receipt)
* Let us remain united, vigilant, and peaceful. Justice will come.
