📜 I Break It to You!

I've tried very hard to keep this to myself thinking there would be some better time to tell you but I can't keep it anymore. It just keeps coming and the harder I try to keep it, the more it burdens me.

You know, life has a way of cutting us open just to see what material we are made of. Sometimes life breaks us. At other times, it tears us apart and still, at other times, it sickens us and there are so many such times in our lifetime.

At one such time in my life, after I fell in love with words, I began asking myself how can these words which mean a lot to me help me make life a little better. There, a journey was borne, Knitting Life With Words.

Therefore, "Knitting Life with Words" is a quest on how words can make life a little better. The project was conceived in 2022 and so far, it has been a journey of wandering, wandering with words.

Within me, it is a search for wholeness again. It is a gathering of pieces, pieces of life. is a journey of healing, transformation and renewal.

This year, I submitted the project for the Goethe Découverte Program organized by the Goethe-Institut Kamerun and it was selected. The first live concert of the project is scheduled for the 12th of July in Yaoundé.

I am very excited to share this journey with you. Every time I think of it, I am overwhelmed because Knitting Life is the genesis of many stories. It includes poems, stories and spoken words I wrote during the most profound and vulnerable moments of my life. The truth is, I've been a lot of things in this life and this me was never part of the plan.

I think I have said too much already but actually, it is just the tip of the iceberg; much much more is still unsaid and the upcoming concert is the place where you will see all that has been said and that which will be said.

Your unwavering support and presence at this concert will mean everything to me. I look forward to having you so that together we will share in this journey.

NO-THING WOULD CHANGE IF WE REMAIN DISTRACTED

Our hearts are broken, and fear roams freely in our minds. We seem to have run out of options but the enemy moves fixated in the shadows. My heart shrinks with melancholy when I think about My Country.

Shall we go on like this? Where is this taking us? Should we wait for some messiah? Is there a message waiting for us somewhere? Do we really have no other option? The agony is too much!

Youths, Hope of Today and Tomorrow, where is your hope? Where is your voice? Where is your future? Where is the future of your children and your children's children?

WHAT SCARES US THE MOST

It is not our smallness that scares us the most; it is the greatness of who we can become and the infinite-ness of what we are that frightens us.

Life's challenges can be a lot humbling; the increase in prices, the hate in man's heart, and the evil in the world are indeed scary but these are not the things that scare us the most.

The thing that scares us the most is what we can become if we love each other. What we can do if we unite and work together for the common good.

What scares us the most is not how broken the world is or how soon it can tear apart; what scares us the most is how powerful we can become as one people, one world.

If your dreams and aspirations don't scare you, then, they are not enough. It should be normal to tremble before such greatness. It is normal to fret before such infinity, yet, this is our perennial enterprise here.

We cannot leave a broken world for our children. We would not see our grandchildren being born into a dysfunctional culture. We want to leave our children a heritage, one they would be proud of.

In this youth week, cease the opportunity, take a chance at some purpose; find something you can do for your nation, and do it. Brick by brick we can rebuild this nation. Line by line, we can rewrite the story.
