Environmental Charter for Presidential Election Candidates
Preamble
Faced with the climate emergency and the degradation of ecosystems, we, the Association for Research and Development of Ecological Plastic Transformation Techniques, call on presidential election candidates to make sustainable development an absolute priority. This charter proposes concrete commitments for a just and ambitious ecological transition, accompanied by measurable indicators.
1. Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Engagement: Reduce national CO₂ emissions by 55% by 2030 (compared to 1990) and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050
Actions:
Accelerate the energy transition toward 100% renewable energy by 2040
Implement a fair carbon tax, with redistribution of revenues to low-income households
Support the energy renovation of public and private buildings
Indicator: Annual reduction rate of emissions, measured by an independent body
2. Protection of Biodiversity
Engagement: Preserve 30% of terrestrial and marine territories by 2030
Actions:
Strengthen protected areas and ban exploitation in zones of high ecological value
Combat imported deforestation by imposing strict import standards
Fund ecosystem restoration programs (forests, wetlands)
Indicator: Percentage of protected areas and the health status of ecosystems
3. Promotion of a Circular Economy
Engagement: Reduce non-recycled waste by 50% by 2030
Actions:
Ban single-use plastics from 2027
Support recycling and reuse sectors through fiscal incentives
Encourage companies to adopt eco-responsible production models
Indicator: Volume of recycled waste and rate of adoption of circular economy practices
4. Environmental Justice
Engagement: Ensure equitable access to resources and a healthy environment for all
Actions:
Invest in green infrastructure in disadvantaged areas (public transport, green spaces)
Include marginalized populations in environmental decision-making processes
Create accessible green jobs for all
Indicator: Number of green jobs created and rate of access to sustainable infrastructure
5. Education and Awareness
Engagement: Integrate sustainable development education into all school curricula by 2027
Actions:
Train teachers on climate and ecological issues
Launch national awareness campaigns on the impact of individual and collective choices
Indicator: Percentage of schools incorporating these programs
Monitoring and Accountability
Candidates commit to annually reporting progress on these measures to an independent citizen commission
ARDTTEMP will publish a public report assessing progress based on the mentioned indicators

We urge candidates to adopt this charter, integrate these commitments into their programs, and rely on civil society for their implementation. Together, let us build a sustainable and equitable future
