📢 OPPORTUNITY SPOTLIGHT | One Country, One Project 2026

Are you part of a youth-led organisation, student association, youth network, or community-based youth organisation working on a project that creates meaningful impact?

The Commonwealth Youth Council (C*C) is inviting eligible youth-led organisations across Commonwealth member states to register their projects for One Country, One Project 2026.

Projects may include campaigns, training, community activities, events, or other interventions addressing a clear community need and demonstrating tangible results.

🌍 Open to: Eligible youth-led organisations across Commonwealth member states
📅 Deadline: 22 August 2026
📌 Implementation period: 12 August – 20 September 2026

Outstanding projects will be recognised at the national level and considered for the Commonwealth Best Project Award 2026, to be presented during CHOGM Week in Antigua and Barbuda.

This International Youth Day, we celebrate the young people whose ideas, voices and actions continue to shape our communities and our shared future.

Across the Commonwealth and beyond, young people are not simply preparing to lead someday. We are already contributing, creating, questioning and leading today.

Some people leave their mark through words. Others do so by ensuring that every detail behind the scenes is carefully in place. Meet Lyna Nzamba.

Lyna is a Master's student in International Communication and Public Action at the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC). She currently serves as the Assistant Secretary General of the Commonwealth Club of IRIC, where she supports the Secretariat in coordinating administrative tasks, preparing official documents, and ensuring the smooth implementation of the Club's activities.

Drawn by the Commonwealth's commitment to sustainable development, democracy, and freedom of expression, Lyna joined the Club with the desire to grow in an environment that promotes dialogue, leadership, and meaningful engagement.

Beyond academics, she is a creative mind with a passion for culinary arts, tourism, public speaking, and entrepreneurship. Her dream is to travel the world, discover new cultures, establish an international tourism agency that showcases the richness of Gabon and Africa, and one day turn her greatest passion into reality by opening her own pastry business.

Being part of the Commonwealth Club of IRIC has enabled Lyna to build valuable professional connections while strengthening her teamwork, resilience, and commitment to serving others. For her, every experience is an opportunity to grow, and she believes this journey is only the beginning of even greater adventures.

Fun Fact: If she's not exploring new ideas, you'll probably find her dreaming about her next travel destination, or perfecting a delicious pastry recipe. ✈️🍰

Looking back, last Friday's Salon du Jeune Entrepreneur de l'ENSY was more than a workshop, it was an afternoon of ideas, innovation, and meaningful exchanges.

The workshop brought together students, aspiring entrepreneurs, and innovators around a shared commitment to creativity, initiative, and the promotion of the Made in Cameroon spirit.

As a partner in this initiative, we were delighted to be part of the conversations, connections, and experiences that made the event both enriching and inspiring.

Beyond the presentations and exhibitions, the event served as a reminder of the talent, potential, and entrepreneurial drive that exist within our youth community.

We extend our appreciation to the organizers, participants, and everyone who contributed to the success of this initiative.
