African Green Bridge Foundation was honored to be invited yesterday for the circular economy launching ceremony to contribute to the development of Cameroon’s Circular Economy Roadmap led by the African Development Bank (AfDB) in collaboration with MINEPAT.

This initiative began with a launch workshop held in October 2024, bringing together stakeholders from the public and private sectors, as well as civil society actors, including AGBF. During the working sessions, participants had the opportunity to make proposals and contribute ideas around key sectors essential to unlocking the potential of the circular economy in Africa, notably agribusiness, waste management, plastics, forestry, and financial governance.

This was followed by the validation workshop held on April 16, 2025, which focused on reviewing the proposed recommendations and defining short-, medium-, and long-term areas of action.

Finally, yesterday 22nd May marked the official launch ceremony of Cameroon’s Circular Economy Roadmap at MINEPAT, chaired by the Minister’s representative. The roadmap was officially presented to all stakeholders and is now effectively in force.

The participation of African Green Bridge Foundation in this collaborative process demonstrates the importance of
involving youth and community actors in national environmental policies. The official launch of this roadmap now
marks the beginning of the operational implementation phase of the circular economy in Cameroon

After a successful two-day workshop, where our Lake Chad Climate Justice Fellows showcased their individual projects and were guided by their facilitator to refine, strengthen, and clearly pitch their proposals for implementation, the next phase has officially begun.

Today, Nkada Honorine—a dedicated AGBF volunteer and also a beneficiary of the Lake Chad Climate Justice Fellowship—commenced her implementation with a powerful community mobilisation initiative in Sa’a, Centre Region of Cameroon.

Nkada is leading a plum tree planting initiative focused on community empowerment and reforestation. She was accompanied by our vibrant volunteer, Dombou Vianey.

Her project will engage 20 women smallholder farmers in Sa’a to plant 5 plum trees each on their farm lands—helping to combat climate-related challenges, support greener livelihoods, and curb the scarcity of plums in the region.

This is a “Plum for All” project, proudly supervised by AGBF.

📍We are excited to witness this initiative grow from strength to strength.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue with the implementation! 🌍💚

On 24–25 April 2026, African Green Bridge Foundation (AGBF), in collaboration with RADA, successfully hosted the Lake Chad Climate Justice Fellowship Workshop in Yaoundé, at Mboa Hub.

This workshop was made possible through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dean Initiative and AGBF, and it brought together five exceptional fellowship beneficiaries from across Cameroon.

Over two impactful days, our fellows—who completed a full year of virtual training in climate and leadership—shared their learning journeys and presented the progress of their work. Following their year-long training, they also underwent a graduation, marking a major milestone before moving into the next stage of the fellowship.

At the workshop, Fellowship beneficiaries showcased their individual projects, and with the support of our facilitator, Cheffor Daisy, they were guided to refine, strengthen, and clearly pitch their proposals for implementation—starting immediately after the workshop.

We are proud of our fellows and inspired by their commitment to climate action, leadership, and climate justice. Congratulations to all participants—your voices, ideas, and projects will drive meaningful change. 🌍💚

The workshop also ended with a Youth Hangout at Mboa Hub in Yaoundé, where over 50 youths gathered to interact on climate-related issues. The youth hangout was spiced by panel discussions, role-playing activities, and oath taking, as participants pledged their commitment to actively participate in the fight against climate change challenges in Africa.
