Recently, we distributed essential food items to 802 children to keep them growing strong

From meticulously pouring and weighing each ration to loading up bags together, every step reflects our deep care for the community.

As these mothers and children walk home, these kits transform into nourishing daily meals.

In Akoeman, farmers faced a major challenge: rich, abundant harvests, but no local physical market to sell them. Through our project to reinforce economic capacity for self-reliance funded by the Kia Green Light Project initiative, we have turned that roadblock into a clear path forward!

By equipping 3 local cooperatives with 2 Kia trucks, we are making sure nothing goes to waste. These trucks transport fresh raw produce straight from the farms, while our new processing machinery converts crops into value added products like plantain flour, maize flour, garri, and bobolo which are then transported directly to neighbouring markets for sale.

Whether it's raw harvests or transformed goods, we are securing market access and driving true economic independence! ๐Ÿ’ช

On the 28th of July 2026, Good Neighbors Cameroon hosted an Inauguration ceremony for the โ€˜Green Light Project (GLP) Centerโ€™ in Akoeman, Nyong and Soโ€™o Division, Center Region Cameroon. Sponsored by Kia, the initiative aims to strengthen the economic self-reliance of local smallholder farmers.

The ceremony was attended by 156 people who gathered to celebrate the successful launch of the Centers. Notable attendees included Mr. Daeseong Cho, Country Director of Good Neighbors Cameroon, the Divisional Officer of Akoeman, the Representative of the Regional Delegate of Agriculture for the Center Region, the Representative of the Mayor of Akoeman, Village Chiefs and members from 3 cooperatives established through the project.

Launched in 2024, the โ€˜Cameroon Kia Green Light Project (GLP)โ€™ is a โ€˜Collective Impactโ€™ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) model. It combines the expertise and resources of corporations, government bodies, and NGOs to address the growing economic vulnerability of smallholder farmers in the Akoeman Village.

Designed to build long-term economic independence for local farmers, the project delivers a comprehensive support framework. Key initiatives include:
* Infrastructure Development: Construction of 3 GLP Centers (Warehouses)
* Logistics Support: Provision of 2 Kia trucks to facilitate agricultural distribution and market access.
* Capacity Building: Supply of Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) inputs and targeted training conducted through newly formed agricultural cooperatives.

With the official opening of the GLP Centers, farmers from the 3 cooperatives can now safely store and transform key crops such as maize, banana plantain, and cassava. Furthermore, the newly provided Kia trucks will enable reliable transport to broader markets. These integrated efforts are expected to boost farmer incomes and establish a self-sustaining economic ecosystem within the local community.

Through the KEFFS Project, producers are receiving tricycles that are making it easier to transport harvests, farming inputs, and goods.
For many farming communities in the Far North region, moving produce from the farms to the warehouses or markets has long been one of the biggest challenges. Today, that challenge is becoming more manageable. These tricycles have improved access to markets, reduced post-harvest losses, supported stronger farmer cooperatives, and improved opportunities to increase household incomes. Every journey made by these tricycles is a step toward stronger livelihoods and more resilient communities.

ร€ Gaitsihe, dans l'Extrรชme-Nord du Cameroun, l'accรจs aux soins d'urgence a longtemps รฉtรฉ limitรฉ par la distance. Pour les familles, un enfant malade imposait un choix impossible : marcher pendant des heures, ou attendre et espรฉrer.

Puis sont arrivรฉes les motos; une vรฉritable ligne de vie sur deux roues.

Grรขce ร  une formation de recyclage menรฉe en partenariat avec la Dรฉlรฉgation Rรฉgionale de la Santรฉ Publique de l'Extrรชme-Nord, Gabriel et ses collรจgues agents de santรฉ communautaires ont renforcรฉ leurs compรฉtences pour offrir des services de santรฉ essentiels. Leur rayon d'action s'รฉtend dรฉsormais 8 kilomรจtres plus loin.

Aujourd'hui, ils peuvent :

Transporter les enfants et adultes malades ร  l'hรดpital ร  temps
Assurer le suivi auprรจs des familles aprรจs chaque visite
