💇‍♂️ First Steps in Hairdressing: Learning Through Play

In our newly launched Hairdressing Club, children with disabilities are taking their first steps into the world of vocational skills—starting with something simple, joyful, and deeply meaningful: combing a doll’s hair.

🧸 Why Dolls? Why Hair?
Using dolls allows our learners to:
- Practice fine motor skills in a safe, low-pressure way
- Explore grooming routines through imitation and repetition
- Build empathy and care by “taking care” of someone else
- Reduce anxiety around touch and textures through familiar play

📸 What the Pictures Show
You’ll see small hands gripping combs, focused faces, and gentle strokes through synthetic strands. These aren’t just cute moments—they’re milestones. Each combed strand is a step toward independence, confidence, and vocational readiness.

Inclusive Learning in Action
We use adaptive combs, visual guides, and calming routines to support every child’s unique needs. Whether it’s a child with sensory sensitivities or motor challenges, our club meets them where they are—with patience, creativity, and celebration.

🎉 Next Steps
As the club grows, we’ll introduce:
- Styling techniques using mannequins
- Hygiene and tool care lessons
- Peer-to-peer grooming activities
- Mini showcases to celebrate progress

This is more than a club—it’s a movement toward visibility, skill-building, and joy. And it all begins with a doll, a comb, and a child who’s ready to learn.

🟢 World Cerebral Palsy Day | October 6th 🟢
Today, we speak truth. We speak love. We speak justice—for every child born with Cerebral Palsy, especially here in Cameroon.

Too many are called obanje—witches, spirits, curses. Parents are told to leave them by the river, to let them “return” as snakes. People run from them because they salivate, wear diapers, or move differently.

And in the darkest corners of ignorance, some have even been used in money rituals—as if their lives were objects, not sacred.

Let us be clear:
Cerebral Palsy is not witchcraft. It is not a curse. It is not shameful.
It is a medical condition. And every child with CP is a child first—deserving of love, protection, and opportunity.

💚 We honor every mother who chose love over fear.
💚 We celebrate every child who continues to grow, learn, and shine.
💚 We commit to building a school and a society where no child is hidden, and no parent is shamed.

Let this day be a turning point. Let it be a reminder that inclusion begins with truth—and that every child deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated.

Disability is not a death sentence. It is a call to humanity.

This Monday, October 6th, as we celebrate World Cerebral Palsy Day, we shine a light on one of the most remarkable parents in our school: Fonye Delphine

Delphine was there from the very beginning. When our school first opened its doors, she enrolled her daughter—who lives with Cerebral Palsy—and immediately stepped forward to volunteer. Her commitment wasn’t just about her child; it was about building a space where every child with a disability could feel seen, supported, and celebrated.

Driven by love and a thirst for understanding, Delphine later enrolled in a course on Special Education—determined to better support her daughter and advocate for others. Today, she speaks with pride and purpose:

> “I have a daughter with CP. And I will say it to anyone who has ears to listen.”

Her voice breaks barriers. Her story builds bridges. Her presence reminds us that inclusion begins with visibility, and that every parent who walks this journey deserves to be honored.

💚 On this World CP Day, we celebrate Fonye Delphine —and every parent who leads with courage, compassion, and conviction. Your journey is a beacon. Your daughter is a gift. And your legacy is woven into the heart of our school.

💚 Cerebral Palsy: Understanding, Supporting, Celebrating 💚

As we count down to World Cerebral Palsy Day on Monday 6th of October we begin with what matters most: understanding.

What is CP?
Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a condition caused by damage to the developing brain, often before birth. It affects movement, posture, and muscle coordination—but every child’s experience is unique.

Signs & Symptoms
Some children may walk with difficulty, others may have stiff or floppy muscles. Some may take longer to speak or reach milestones. But behind every symptom is a child full of potential, creativity, and joy.

🌱 What Causes CP?
CP can result from:
- Lack of oxygen during birth
- Infections during pregnancy
- Premature birth or low birth weight
- Early brain injury or genetic factors

💬 Why This Matters
At Timely , we believe every child deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated. CP doesn’t define a child’s worth—it simply reminds us that inclusion is not optional, it’s essential.

💚 This week, we stand with children, families, and educators who walk this journey with courage and love. Let’s raise awareness, break myths, and build a community where every learner belongs.

📢 Join us in wearing green this Monday to show your support!

Deborah Found Her Voice—Through Sign Language and Belonging 🇨🇲

Deborah was once the quietest child in her class—not because she had nothing to say, but because no one understood her.

In her former school, teachers tried their best, but they had never been trained in sign language. Her classmates were kind, but confused. Deborah’s hands moved with meaning, but her words were invisible. Day after day, she sat in silence, her thoughts locked inside.

Her parents saw her light dimming. They searched for a place where Deborah wouldn’t just be accommodated—but celebrated.

That’s when they found Timely Performance Care Center.

From the moment Deborah stepped into our gates, everything changed. Her teachers greeted her with signs. Her classmates learned to say “hello,” “friend,” and “play” with their hands. Deborah smiled—really smiled—for the first time in weeks.

Now, she leads the morning routine in sign language. She teaches her peers new signs. She’s not just participating—she’s leading.

On this International Day of Sign Language Use, we celebrate children like Deborah, who remind us that communication is more than speech. It’s connection. It’s dignity. It’s inclusion.

💙 At Timely, every child has a voice. And every voice matters.

"Mon nom est Déborah. Fille sourde et je fréquente à TPCC."

With confidence and pride, Déborah signs her name in French Sign Language (LSF)—a beautiful reminder that every voice matters, whether spoken or signed.

As we approach International Day of the Deaf on September 28, TPCC celebrates the richness of sign language and the vibrant identities of our deaf students.

At TPCC, we teach both LSF and ASL, thanks to our incredible special educators who make communication accessible and joyful for every child.

💬 Let’s make this week interactive!
Here’s how you can join us:

🔹 Learn a new sign each day—we’ll be sharing tips in both LSF and ASL.
🔹 Comment below: What does inclusion mean to you?

*Teacher Spotlight: Marie & Juliet – Champions for Children with Cerebral Palsy*

This week, we shine a light on two extraordinary educators:Koika Juliette Berinyuy and Marie Thererese Nyuyki , whose hearts and hands are fully committed to empowering children with cerebral palsy.

In their classroom, every movement matters.
Marie and Juliet use adaptive strategies like PECS, sensory play, and mobility-friendly setups to help each child communicate, explore, and grow.

“We don’t just teach—we listen, we adapt, we celebrate every small victory,” says Marie.

They understand that cerebral palsy affects each child differently. Whether it’s helping with fine motor skills, supporting speech development, or building confidence through inclusive play, they meet every child where they are—with patience and purpose.

💡 Their secret? Compassion, creativity, patience and a deep belief that every child deserves to be seen, heard, and supported.

At Timely Performance Care Center, we believe inclusion goes beyond the classroom!

Today, two of our amazing colleagues with low vision led our special kids in a creative bead-making session . It was more than just arts and crafts – it was a lesson in patience, creativity, and the power of ability over disability.

We are proud to say that we are not just a special school, but an inclusive community that embraces diversity, empowers talents, and shows every child and teacher that they have something beautiful to contribute.

Introducing Our New Director – Mme Eyango Chantal

We are delighted to officially welcome Mme Eyango Chantal as the new Director of Timely Performance Care Center.

Mme Chantal is a specialist in Braille and has dedicated her career to empowering children with disabilities. During her years of teaching at Lycée d’Ekounou, she worked with more than 100 children with visual impairments, giving them access to education through Braille.

Today, she began her journey with us by sitting in the Cerebral Palsy (CP) class, where she worked alongside the teacher to support our learners. This act reflects her hands-on leadership style and her passion for ensuring that every child — regardless of their ability — receives the best possible care and education.

We are excited about the future of Timely under her leadership and invite you all to join us in giving Mme Eyango Chantal a very warm welcome! 💙
