Last month in Cairo, Egypt, our team participated at the Big-Catch-Up Cross-Country Workshop organized by the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research (AHPSR). Alongside teams from Nigeria, Tanzania, Pakistan and Yemen we:

➡️ Showcased preliminary BCU case study findings and refine analyses
➡️ Brainstormed cross-country themes, best practices, and learnings
➡️ Generated lessons for institutionalizing catch-up activities into routine services
➡️ Developed tailored communication and dissemination plans
➡️ Advanced deliverables based on individual country and synthesis findings.

A special shout-out to Dr Shalom J. Tchokfe Ndoula – Cameroon EPI Permanent Secretary, Ngong Ferdinard and Valerie Ahouama from EVIHDAF, for leading Cameroon’s discussions.

Stay tuned for the final findings!

📣 New research alert!
What do people in Cameroon 🇨🇲 and Kenya 🇰🇪 really think about , and what makes it acceptable ❓

💡 This qualitative study dives deep into personal experiences, cultural expectations, and service realities to redefine how we measure contraceptive demand.

💬 “ ” isn’t just about safety or access; it’s about , choice, and context.

Explore the 6 domains that shape contraceptive behavior in Africa.

✨ What drives choice beyond access and availability?

Our latest research from Cameroon and Kenya reveals that acceptability, not just availability, is key. Using the “5C” vaccine hesitancy framework, we explored how confidence, calculation, and constraints shape contraceptive decisions.

But that’s not all❗️ We uncovered 3 new dimensions:
👨‍👩‍👧 Family responsibility
🤝 Partner engagement
👶 Childbearing expectations

Together, these six domains offer a fresh lens to understand contraceptive demand and behavior.
