The Noni people have always believed that "a title is never worn by the head alone; it is carried by the heart, the character, and the service of the one who bears it." Our forefathers taught us that honour is not inherited by blood alone, but earned through humility, integrity, wisdom, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of the people.

It is therefore with profound joy, confidence, and a deep sense of cultural responsibility that the Noni Traditional Council (NTC) Yaoundé wholeheartedly acknowledges, endorses, and validates the conferment of the distinguished honorary title of 𝗡𝗙𝗢𝗡-𝗡𝗞𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗘.

Among the Noni, a tree is known by the shade it gives. Likewise, a leader is recognised not merely by the honour bestowed upon him, but by the peace he cultivates, the unity he inspires, the wisdom he shares, and the lives he transforms. This distinction is therefore not simply a decoration of prestige; it is a sacred covenant between the bearer and the people—a lifelong call to exemplary leadership and faithful stewardship of our cherished heritage.

Our elders remind us that:

"The stream that forgets its source will one day run dry."

The title 𝗡𝗙𝗢𝗡-𝗡𝗞𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗧𝗘 is a constant reminder that genuine greatness is rooted in cultural identity, respect for tradition, service to humanity, and accountability before both the living and the ancestors. It calls upon its bearer to become a bridge between generations, preserving our customs while inspiring future generations to cherish and promote the rich heritage of the Noni people.

On behalf of the Noni Traditional Council (NTC) Yaoundé, I therefore affirm that this honour has been bestowed in the true spirit of our customs and values. We pledge our continued moral support, prayers, and collaboration as the bearer embraces the responsibilities that accompany this noble distinction.

My dear brothers and sisters of Noni,

The time has come.

Not tomorrow.

Not next year.

Now.

A people without memory are like a tree without roots. Such a tree may remain standing for a while, but the first violent storm will uproot it forever. Today, we stand at one of the greatest crossroads in our history. We must decide whether we shall become the generation that merely inherited the rich cultural legacy of our ancestors or the generation that faithfully preserved and handed it over, richer and stronger, to those yet unborn.

Our ancestors never wrote volumes of books. Yet they educated generations. They never possessed digital archives. Yet history survived. They never had universities. Yet wisdom flourished.

How?

Because knowledge travelled from mouth to ear... from father to son... from mother to daughter... from elder to child... around the evening fire... beneath the sacred trees... through songs, dances, proverbs, folktales, rituals and communal living.

That sacred chain of transmission is gradually breaking.

Many of our children know foreign cultures better than they know the stories behind their own family compounds. Many proudly speak foreign languages but cannot explain the meaning of their own names. Some can sing foreign songs from beginning to end but cannot identify the rhythm of a Noni traditional dance.

This is not their fault.

It is ours.

We have been too busy building houses while neglecting the foundation upon which our identity rests.

We have celebrated individual achievements while forgetting our collective heritage.

We have allowed pride, division, politics and personal interests to separate us where our ancestors united us.

Yet culture does not belong to one Fondom.

Culture does not belong to one association.

Culture does not belong to one family.

Cultural heritage belongs to the entire Noni Nation.

Therefore, I humbly appeal to every Fon, every Shey, every elder, every youth, every woman, every intellectual, every traditional institution, every cultural association, every development organization and every son and daughter of Noni at home and in the diaspora to embrace a common vision.

Whether or not we succeed immediately in bringing every association under one umbrella should not delay us.

Let us begin with what unites us.

Let us bury our pride before pride buries our culture.

Let us silence our egos before history silences our voices.

The wisdom of our ancestors teaches us that one broomstick breaks easily, but a bundle cannot be broken.

𝗔 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗔𝗟: 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗢𝗡𝗜 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗙𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗔𝗟 (𝗡𝗢𝗛𝗘𝗙𝗘𝗦𝗧)

I respectfully propose the establishment of an annual cultural celebration to be known as:

𝗡𝗢𝗡𝗜 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗙𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗔𝗟 (𝗡𝗢𝗛𝗘𝗙𝗘𝗦𝗧)

This should become the annual meeting point of every Noni son and daughter irrespective of village, Fondom, religion, social status or political affiliation.

It should become our cultural parliament.

Our living museum.

Our university without walls.

Our annual classroom where grandparents become professors and children become eager learners.

During this festival, we should celebrate:

• Our traditional dances and music.

• Our indigenous languages and oral literature.

• Our folklore and moonlight storytelling.

• Our traditional cuisine.

• Our indigenous architecture.

• Our arts and crafts.

• Traditional wrestling and indigenous sports.

• Medicinal knowledge.

• Marriage customs and family values.

• Traditional leadership and institutions.

• Agricultural heritage.

• Traditional attire and regalia.

• Indigenous conflict resolution.

• Noni history and genealogy.

Above all, we should honour every man and woman who contributed to making Noni what it is today.

Every year, distinguished sons and daughters of Noni—living and departed—should be recognized through the 𝗡𝗢𝗡𝗜 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗔𝗚𝗘 𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗖𝗬 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗦, ensuring that those who laboured for our people are never forgotten.

For a people who fail to honour yesterday's builders rarely inspire tomorrow's builders.

𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗪𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛

Gold may disappear.

Money loses value.

Buildings crumble.

Governments change.

But a people's culture outlives generations.

It is our identity.

It is our passport before the world.

It is our collective memory.

It is the inheritance we received freely and which we have no moral right to destroy.

Our children deserve to inherit more than land.

They deserve to inherit stories.

They deserve songs.

They deserve proverbs.

They deserve values.

They deserve wisdom.

They deserve Noni.

𝗔 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗢 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

I therefore call upon:

• All our Traditional Rulers.

• The Noni Traditional Council.

• Cultural Associations.

• Development Associations.

• Intellectuals and Researchers.

• Religious Leaders.

• Women and Youth Organizations.

• Business Leaders.

• Every Noni son and daughter worldwide.

Let us establish a permanent committee charged with documenting, preserving, promoting and transmitting our cultural heritage.

Let us publish books.

Let us establish cultural museums.

Let us create digital archives.

Let us record our elders before their wisdom disappears forever.

Let us teach our children.

Let us organize annual competitions in storytelling, dancing, music, traditional cuisine, poetry and indigenous knowledge.

Let every child proudly say:

"I know who I am because I know where I come from."

𝗟𝗘𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗢𝗡𝗚 𝗦𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡

My fellow Noni people,

History is watching us.

Our ancestors are watching us.

Our children are waiting for us.

The question is no longer whether our culture is important.

The question is whether we shall preserve it before it disappears.

May future generations remember that in our own time, when the drumbeat of culture was fading, we rose together—not as separate villages, not as competing associations, not as divided families—but as one people with one heart and one heritage.

Let the gong sound again.

Let the fires of our ancestors burn again.

Let every village answer the call.

Let every child learn the songs.

Let every elder tell the stories.

Let every family preserve the language.

Let every heart beat for Noni.

For culture forgotten is identity lost.

But culture preserved is a people immortal.

May the wisdom of our ancestors guide our steps, strengthen our unity, and inspire generations yet unborn.

The time to act is now.

An Appeal for Truth, Verification, and Collective Responsibility
Disturbing information circulating on social media alleges that more than 40 civilians in Bamti-Noni Subdivision, Bui Division, were reportedly abducted by armed separatist fighters for allegedly refusing to participate in a community road maintenance exercise. The same reports further claim that each victim was compelled to pay a fine of 15,000 FCFA before regaining freedom.
It is also alleged that one of the fighters involved originates from Kikiakom.

At this stage, these claims remain unverified, and as wise elders say, “A story carried by the wind must first be tested against the footprints on the ground.” In times of fear and uncertainty, falsehood can travel faster than truth; yet silence, too, can become an accomplice when communities fail to speak.

For this reason, we respectfully call on: • Indigenes of Noni;
• Sons and daughters of Bamti-Noni;
• Local authorities;
• Community leaders;
• Victims, witnesses, and concerned residents
to help confirm or debunk this information responsibly and truthfully.

If the incident truly occurred, those with credible information are encouraged to provide: ✓ The exact date and circumstances of the incident;
✓ The identities or number of persons allegedly victimized;
✓ Testimonies from victims or eyewitnesses;
✓ Any verifiable details that can assist public understanding and documentation.
Let us remember the proverb: “When a hut burns in the night, every eye in the village must remain awake.” The suffering of one community today may become the burden of another tomorrow if truth is buried beneath fear.

This appeal is not intended to inflame tensions, spread propaganda, or endanger lives. Rather, it seeks to encourage factual clarification, community accountability, and the preservation of truth in a conflict where rumors often wear the mask of reality.

May wisdom guide every contribution, and may peace one day return fully to our land.

■ Employment Type: Commission-Based with Basic Motivational Salary
■ Duty Station: Biyem-Assi Superette, Yaoundé, Cameroon
■ Reporting Line: Institutional Management
■ Start Date: Immediate (subject to selection process)

𝐊𝐄𝐘 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒

The successful candidate will be expected to:

■ Develop and implement targeted marketing strategies to promote RUI programmes, with emphasis on dual certification, international partnerships, and employability.
■ Manage admissions processes, including prospect engagement, inquiries handling, and enrollment facilitation, in line with RUI’s learner-centred and competency-based philosophy.
■ Conduct market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities and support programme expansion.
■ Leverage digital marketing tools and social media platforms to enhance RUI’s visibility locally and internationally.
■ Build and sustain relationships with prospective students, secondary schools, training centres, and corporate partners.
■ Monitor and report performance indicators such as enrollment targets and conversion rates to optimise campaigns and commissions.
■ Collaborate closely with academic and administrative teams to ensure alignment with RUI’s values of excellence, innovation, and global citizenship.

𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒

Ideal candidates must demonstrate the following:

■ A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related discipline (RUI alumni or candidates familiar with higher education systems will have an added advantage).
■ At least 2–3 years of verifiable experience in marketing, sales, or admissions—preferably within the education sector.
■ Proven ability to perform in a commission-based environment with measurable results.
■ Strong digital marketing competencies, including social media management, content creation, SEO, and analytics.
■ Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French.
■ An entrepreneurial, self-driven mindset, with integrity, creativity, and passion for education as a tool for social transformation.
■ Knowledge of Cameroon’s education landscape and global certification frameworks will be considered an asset.
