INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD 2026

Theme: “End Child Marriage and Invest in Girls’ Rights.”

Today, Community Echoes Foundation joins the world in celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child, a day dedicated to promoting the rights, dignity, protection and empowerment of every girl.

We marked this important occasion with the students of DUNACOL Tiko, engaging them in conversations about girls’ rights, the dangers of child marriage, the importance of education and the need to create safe and supportive environments where every girl can thrive.

Child marriage robs girls of their childhood, education, freedom and opportunities. Every girl deserves the right to learn, make decisions about her future, and live free from violence, abuse and discrimination.

Our message is clear: Girls are not brides; they are children with dreams, rights and limitless potential. Protecting them is not a choice; it is our collective responsibility.

OUR CALL TO ACTION: THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW!

We call on parents and guardians to protect girls from early marriage and support their education; schools and teachers to identify and speak out against practices that threaten girls’ futures; community leaders and traditional authorities to challenge harmful social norms; government and policymakers to strengthen and enforce laws protecting children; and every community member to report cases of child marriage and abuse to the appropriate authorities.

Let us move beyond words and turn our commitments into action. Keep girls in school, speak up when their rights are violated, support initiatives that empower them, and create communities where no girl is forced to exchange her childhood for marriage.

At Community Echoes Foundation, we believe that when we protect a girl, we protect a future; when we educate a girl, we empower a generation.

Join us in saying NO to child marriage and YES to girls’ rights, education, safety and equal opportunities. Every girl deserves a future she chooses not one forced upon her.

Together, let us build a world where every girl is safe, heard, educated and empowered.

BUEA STANDS AGAINST FEMICIDE! 🟣

On 9 October 2026, Community Echoes Association joined other organizations in a femicide advocacy walk organized by in Buea.

Femicide the gender-related killing of women and girls is a serious form of gender-based violence that demands urgent attention and collective action.

The walk raised awareness about protecting women and girls, challenging harmful attitudes, preventing violence, and promoting accountability.

Our Call to Action: Ending femicide requires more than awareness. Let us speak up, report abuse, support survivors, and work together to build safer communities.

Every woman deserves to live in safety, dignity, and freedom from violence.

Today, Community Echoes Association joins Cameroon and the rest of the world to celebrate the value of peace.

Peace begins with the little things we do every day choosing kindness over anger, understanding over judgment, forgiveness over resentment, and love over hate.

In our homes, schools, workplaces, and communities, every act of kindness is an investment in peace.

🇨🇲 As Cameroonians, let us continue to be people who promote peace, respect one another, listen to each other, and create spaces where everyone feels valued and safe.

Peace is not only something we hope for. It is something we build, protect, and share every day.

⚽ Health Meets the Game in Tiko! 🩺

As part of our Healthy Holidays Campaign, On the 19th Community Echoes Foundation brought health, awareness, and empowerment straight to the community during the Tiko Sub-Divisional Inter-Quarter tournament at the Tiko Town Green Hall.

As part of our ongoing commitment to community health and wellness, we hosted a successful free HIV and syphilis testing outreach right in the heart of the action!

What We Achieved Together:

Over 200 Persons Tested: An incredible turnout of community members stepping up to know their status on the field!

Free & Confidential Testing: Empowering individuals in a safe, supportive environment.

Safer S*x Education: Distributing male condoms and providing hands-on demonstrations on correct usage.

Open Conversations: Breaking the stigma around sexual health and encouraging proactive wellness choices, especially among the youth and sports fans.

Thank you Tiko Sub-Divisional Inter-Quarter tournament, Winning on the field is great, but taking charge of your health is the ultimate victory! 💪🏾
