Peace is not built only in conference rooms because it is also shaped through the conversations young people have every day across both digital and physical spaces, and this belief inspired our online dialogue titled "𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐕𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞." The discussion created an open and engaging space for participants to reflect on the growing impact of , , and divisive narratives while exploring how young people can use their voices and digital platforms to promote understanding, empathy, responsible civic engagement, and social cohesion.
Throughout the session, participants shared experiences, exchanged perspectives, and examined how everyday online interactions, whether through a post, a comment, or a shared video, can either fuel division or contribute to healing and peaceful coexistence. The dialogue reinforced the important reminder that every digital voice carries responsibility and that every citizen has a role to play in building a more peaceful, inclusive, and united Cameroon through respectful communication and thoughtful engagement.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our speakers, Martha Mburli Lingong, Berinyuy Cajetan, and Bochum Samuel Bache, whose expertise, thoughtful contributions, and engaging discussions encouraged participants to reflect more critically on their digital footprint while inspiring them to become ambassadors of peace and positive change within their communities.
We are equally grateful to our partner Youth Actions for Development Foundation - YADEF and to the Goethe-Institut Kamerun through the Connected Camero(o/u)n Project for making this important initiative possible and for their continued investment in youth-led efforts that strengthen peace, social cohesion, responsible digital citizenship, and meaningful civic participation across Cameroon.
Although the webinar has come to an end, the conversations and commitments it inspired will continue beyond the event because its true impact will be reflected in the choices participants make, the conversations they nurture, the content they share, and the communities they help build through every respectful interaction that promotes understanding, dialogue, and unity.
