CEFI Participates in Historic WASH Sector Workshop in NWSW CameroonCEFI was honored to participate in the historic WASH Sector Workshop, held from February 26-27, 2025, at The Mountain Hotel, Buea. This crucial event, organized by the WASH Cluster and Regional Delegations of the Ministry of Water and Energy, brought together UN agencies, international and national NGOs, the Red Cross, government ministries, and municipal councils to address the severe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) crisis in the North-West and South-West (NWSW) regions.
The workshop focused on validating data from the first-ever WASH-specific needs assessment, prioritizing interventions, and developing evidence-based strategies to improve access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene services for internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, and host communities. Discussions also emphasized gender inclusion, sustainability, climate resilience, and policy reforms to strengthen local governance in WASH service delivery. As a key stakeholder, CEFI contributed to the dialogue on innovative solutions, community engagement, and multi-sectoral collaboration to ensure sustainable, climate-resilient WASH services.
This workshop marks a significant step toward addressing urgent WASH needs in NWSW, and CEFI remains committed to supporting data-driven, impactful interventions that improve lives and build resilient communities.
