When I was child, our mothers collect firewood not far from our house. We guard cattle not far from home. Our parents were parents were not use chemical products to the farm. Our fathers bring us at home the bush meat. I have never seen and heard landslide, flood, sand storm, wind storm extreme heat, lack to water etc.
Today in my community, our mothers go about 50km to collect firewood due to the lack of trees. There is no space to guard cattle due to the extension of agriculture. There are no wild animals because their habitat destroyed. Today our parents use chemical products but there is less agriculture yield.
Today we live with some events that threaten the living condition, such as flood, sand storm, wind storm, extreme heat and we have also lack to water. There is some new cases of diseases.
Nowadays we have some realities in our community such as flood in Mayo-Tsanaga, Mayo-danay, Mayo-sava, Dimaré and Logone et Chari Division that causes death, destroy agriculture sectors, impact livelihood, infrastructure ( sanitary, school, bridge and public and private sector) and causes displacement of people. Throughout the region, we have lack to water that can generated public health risks. We have also lack to firewood that can lead to gender inequality, violence and haressment. In other areas, agriculture sectors affected by Climate change and insecurities. In Mayo-Tsanaga Division we are facing conflict between refugees and host community due to the lack of natural resources. We also communal conflict between community due to the lack of livelihood, like conflict Musgoum vs Arab choa in kousseri. Every year our community receive about 500 nomadic shepherds, when they at the harvest period, the crops are devastated by them. And during sowing period they cut trees to their cattle, and after that another trees are daying.
