On the 25 of November 2025, IYEC joined the global community in commemorating the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, with a strong focus on combating digital violence across the Limbe Municipality.

As part of the commemoration, a community sensitization campaign was carried out in Dougyard Limbe, where residents were engaged on the different forms of online abuse, safe digital practices, and accessible reporting mechanisms. This was followed by a radio outreach, which amplified key messages on protecting vulnerable groups especially young girls from cyberbullying, online harassment, and other forms of digital GBV.

IYEC also conducted a school sensitization session at Saker Baptist College, where young girls were educated on how to identify, prevent, and respond to digital violence. The session emphasized understanding their rights online, building confidence, and seeking support when faced with digital threats.

The activities brought together several civil society organizations (CSOs) and NGOs and MINPROF , reflecting a strong and united commitment to ending GBV in all its forms. Their collective presence strengthened the call for safer digital spaces and reinforced the need for ongoing advocacy, prevention, and community engagement.

As we continue this global campaign, we reaffirm our dedication to promoting safety, dignity, and equality for every girl and woman on and offline.
Together, we can build a future free from violence.
