Every girl deserves a SAFE SPACE to grow, learn and dream. The Girl-shine program brings adolescent girls together to mold their confidence, learn necessary life-skills, and stay protected from violence and harmful practices. With the help of mentorship and guided support, girls discover their Abilities and their voices. When we Shield girls, they shine, and communities become STRONGER. Together, let’s keep investing in their future.

The Girl-Shine is part of our ShieldHer Project, implemented in partnership with the International Rescue Committee(IRC) and supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
Thank you for believing in girls. Let’s keep showing up for them — today and every day. 🌍

✨ to the powerful moments from the 💜
In December 2025, Girls Excel, in partnership with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), organized a community awareness program on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Kossala 5 under the Project.
The initiative is focused on strengthening protection mechanisms for women and girls in Meme Division—creating safer spaces, increasing awareness, and empowering communities to speak up and act against violence.
Together, we are breaking the silence, challenging harmful norms, and building communities where every girl and woman feels safe, heard, and protected. 💛
Because protection is not a privilege — it is a right.

From 1–5 November 2025, trainers from across Africa gathered in Nairobi, Kenya for the Africa Girls Can Code Initiative (AGCCI) Training of Trainers workshop. Through the support of W4 Girls, UN Women and ITU, Excel was represented by Mr Benyella Njeko, founder of Buea Institute of Technology, our local implementation partner.

The five-day experience focused on equipping trainers with the skills, tools, and confidence to deliver the AGCCI curriculum to girls aged 17–25. Through a blend of innovative pedagogy and hands-on technical learning, participants explored how to nurture creativity, build digital skills, and inspire girls to pursue careers in technology. The workshop reinforced a shared mission: empowering young African women to shape the continent’s digital future.

💻📵 Digital violence is real—and we’re taking action.

At Girls Excel, protecting women and girls goes beyond physical spaces. It includes the online world, where technology-facilitated abuse is becoming increasingly common.

As an active member of the Limbe GBV & Child Protection Platform, we proudly contributed—both financially and through our team—to the 35th edition of the 16 Days of Activism in Fako, focused on ending digital violence against women and girls.

📣 From radio and TV sensitisation
🏫 to school outreaches
🗣️ and community dialogues
We engaged, educated, and amplified voices—because safety should exist online and offline.
✨ We stand with women and girls in Fako.
✨ We stand against digital violence.
✨ We stand for safer digital spaces.

This is more than a campaign against GBV, it’s our commitment towards a world where every girl/woman is free from harm.

🌸So grateful to share this beautiful media coverage from our last Menstrual Health event in Kumba, organized in partnership with Mares Foundation.

This was a powerful moment for us at Girls Excel as we created a safe, inclusive space for girls and women living with disabilities to learn, share, and access dignified menstrual health resources.

None of this would have been possible without the generous support of our partners who continue to believe in a world where every girl and woman can manage her period with dignity: IGNITE .fr

Together, we’re breaking barriers, expanding access, and making sure no one is left behind. ❤️🌍

Thank you to everyone who continues to stand with us in this
