💚 Small victories deserve big celebrations.
Sometimes progress looks like:
- Making eye contact.
- Saying a first word.
- Following instructions.
- Playing with others.
- Smiling with confidence.
These moments may seem small to others, but to a parent, they mean everything.
At Patrick Center, we celebrate every achievement because each one is another step toward independence and confidence.
To every parent:
Never underestimate the power of your unconditional love.
Your child is growing.
Your child is learning.
Your child has unlimited potential.

Let's continue walking this journey together.

Yesterday, 17th June, we raised our voices for the 36th International Day of the African Child 2026 🎉

The Patrick Center, together with MINAS and partners in Meme, stood united under the theme: “Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Hygiene and Sanitation for Every Child in Africa.”

Water is life. But for many children in Kumba, the Southwest, and Cameroon, clean water is still a daily struggle. Some trek long distances, risking violation, kidnapping, or worse, just for a drink.

At Patrick Center, we’re changing the story. Every day, our children with special needs are taught:
💧 The basics of body hygiene
💧 How to access safe, portable drinking water
💧 Why we must preserve water and never waste it
💧 How to manage menstruation with dignity
💧 How to separate waste paper, food, plastic , using visual clues for our neurodiverse champions

Because disability is NOT inability. Our kids led human investment activities yesterday to prove it. If they can practice hygiene and protect water, so can everyone.

The home is the first school. A child’s hygiene speaks of their upbringing, regardless of diagnosis or ability. Let’s make clean water and sanitation available in every school, center, and home.

To every parent: Start today. Teach one hygiene habit. Save one child.

What a Day to remember in the States! 🙌

Patrick, representing Patrick Center, showed up for Mommy Delly’s Delly Singah. book signing on Sunday the 7th 2026 and the moment they met in person was pure joy. She was so excited to finally see Patrick face-to-face that tears of joy started flowing 😢❤️

This is what community looks like. This is what impact feels like. Books connect us, but people make the story real.

Mummy Mah and Patrick were honored to exchange with some of our own like Auntie Felicia Auntie Felicia and others to celebrate Mummy Delly, her voice, her journey, and the lives her words are touching.
Unity is the goal.

💚 Turning responsibility into joy 🥳

With staff guidance, the kids did indoor general cleaning alongside their peers. They learned to sort waste into different bins, building habits that keep our environment and future clean.

Since SNEC taps weren’t running, we adapted. Using bottles of water and bowls, the children practiced proper handwashing. They also learned how to use sanitizer where water isn’t easily available. No water, no problem, hygiene still comes first!

Proud of our young leaders for showing that discipline, teamwork, and adaptability start early.

Yesterday at Patrick Center, we paused to celebrate the real heroes - our moms 💛

For Mother’s Day, we treated 10 incredible mothers of children with autism and other special needs to a full day of self-care and sisterhood. Because parents of autistic children rarely get a break, and they deserve it.

The day looked like this:
11:30am: Glam makeover session to help every mom feel refreshed + confident
Afternoon: Family-style lunch out in town, laughter, toasts, and words of encouragement
Gift bags for each mom: rice, salt, ceramic bowl, sponges & a storage container - given from the little we have, because our mothers are gold

17 of us gathered - moms, staff, MINAS rep, delegates from Douala, and Hopeful Hearts Association. One mission: honor the resilience of mothers who give everything daily.

Thank you to our founders, Director, MINAS, staff, parents, and Hopeful Hearts for making this possible. The smiles said it all.

On this Labour Day, we pause to celebrate the incredible men and women whose daily efforts drive our collective progress. To the staff at Patrick Center, your commitment is the foundation of our success and the fuel for our vision.

To our audience and partners, your labor-whether in the field, the office, or the classroom, is what builds a stronger future for us all. We recognize the perseverance it takes to innovate and lead in your respective spaces.

Today is a well-deserved opportunity to rest, reflect on your accomplishments, and enjoy a day of relaxation with family and friends.
Happy Labour Day!
