There is greatness in everyone and we are the change our community needs.

Development in todays context has to be viewed from different perspective and approach.It entails the combination of both the civil society and the government to attain this objective.People may ask me, why grassroot leadership ? If one could take a look at some of the rural areas we have in Cameroon,it is evident to see many great inspirations,aspirations,hopes,determination,talents,resources and intelligence which go to waste or are lost due to lack of motivation.

Most rural areas are poor and lacking in terms of development,economic growth,employment,infastructure,marketable roads,electricity and even portable drinking water.This no doubt,poss a serious threat and a problem to the people therin,especially the youth,women and children who have grown and witnessed the backwardness in the areas they were born and still while growing still witnesing the same dilema and have therefore resilent themselves to poverty as their second name.That explains why it is common to hear youth saying that what is the need going to school of which there is no job,others say what is the need putting efforts and money of which there is no positive outcome due corruption and unequal distribution of resources in the country,others say,what is the need wasting time to go and vote of which the results are highly predictable.

As a result,many donot feel as to go to school,many dont feel as engaging in any civic duty in the state,women just embrace farming or house wife status as the only means of surviving,youth become lazy or engage in byke business or stealing as a way out,young girls give themselves cheaply to men at very young ages to be able to provide for themselves and this has resulted in many unwanted pregnancies.At the center of all these ills i have aforementioned,one will find that the people have embraced the issue of inequality into their DNA.They feel others are greater because they are born from a rich family or they have a relative who is a top administrator or politician in the country.

Therefore,if these people or group of persons are inspired,they will have the zeal to press forward irrespective of their family or regional status.They will believe everyone has equal chance to progress and be something meaningful in the future.This is were grassroot leadership find its place,to sensitise,inspire,motivate and support leadership skills in the grassroot and rural areas so that they can become very indoustrous and resourceful to their community and nation atlarge.
