Planting too early or too late = wasting the seeds + wasting sweat 😩

Rain don fall only for 2 days and you don already run go plant. 1 week later sun burn everything. Money gone.

Next time, Try this…

1. Wait for real rain - When the rain falls 3-4 times and the soil is wet 2 fingers deep, that’s real planting time. 1 light rain is a serious trap. Don’t fall for it.
2. Plant with the season, not with your neighbor- Your lowland and your neighbor’s hill don’t get rain same day or in the same amount. Watch your own land.
3. Seed is money- If you plant when your soil is dry, the seed will sleep, rot, or birds will eat it. Wait 2 more days, save your money.

Farmer test: Dig a small hole with your finger before planting. If the soil sticks to your finger like mud =good to plant. If it’s dust = wait.

YOUR SOIL IS HUNGRY😩
But we only give it “fast food” = chemical fertilizer. Then we shout when crops don’t grow well.

Farming made simple:
1. Soil has life - Like ants in the ground. Organic waste = food for them. No food = they die.
2. Plants eat from soil, not from bags..- Compost is like mama’s cooking pot. It feeds plants small every day.
3. Farm for tomorrow..- If you spoil soil today, your children will suffer tomorrow.

Fun test you can try:

Bury 1 old cotton T-shirt in your farm for 2 months.
If it rots fast = your soil is healthy and alive ✅
If it stays same = your soil is dead/tired ❌

Land prep for our cassava project… and the wild flies welcomed us 😩 We’re preparing the land for cassava planting….But wild flies are so many we can’t even walk freely on the farm yet. Just part of the challenges we face on new savanna lands.

Are your tomatoes getting rotten on the plant?
9/10 times it’s called blossom end rot. Caused by irregular watering + low calcium.

To Fix that :
1. Water your tomatoes same time, same amount. Don’t allow the soil to get dry then you flood it.
2. Add crushed egg shells or wood ash around plant base. That’s free calcium.
3. Mulch with dry grass to keep moisture steady and reduce évapotranspiration

Cost: 0frs if you have kitchen waste
Result: Less rotten fruit, more money in the pocket.
