Dear ACSSD Members,
Happy Labour Day! Today, we honor the achievements and contributions of workers across the country and around the globe. Labour Day, celebrated on May 1st, has its roots in the labor movement advocating for workers' rights, notably the push for an eight-hour workday in the late 19th century.
While many may see this day as an opportunity to indulge in festivities, it’s vital to remember that it is a time for reflection. We reflect on our rights, the struggles of our predecessors for better working conditions, and the ongoing fight for justice and equity in the workplace. Let’s take a moment to appreciate the labor that builds our nation and consider how we can continue to support each other in our efforts for fair treatment and opportunity for all.
